All, In ArcGIS Monitor 2025, we’ve identified a regression in the DNS lookup logic run in AM Server and AM Agent when they boot up. We’ve seen this manifest in certain environments with no DNS available or under certain DNS lookup/name resolution configurations. We understand this is a critical issue and we are working on a fix to address this issue ASAP. ------------------------ @JeffGarcia - I realize you're using a different Monitor release, can you please try some of the suggestions posted by @StevenBeothy to help resolve your issue?

Hi @GISSupport_MUAR, We are actually working on enabling this for the next ArcGIS Monitor 2025.1 release. We will support component relationship graphs that will display relationships between different registered components in ArcGIS Monitor. If you have specific use cases or requirements, please let us know. Hope this helps,

Hi @Oiligriv, > I noticed that by disabling the primary administrator site from ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Monitor is no longer able to get the metrics. This is expected behavior. ArcGIS Monitor is considered to be a trusted client to ArcGIS Enterprise and needs to use the primary site administrator (PSA) account to access metrics from a federated ArcGIS Server site. To add onto @StevenBeothy's comment, > Esri is working on aligning their hardening guidelines with certain requirements like the one above to better align the two in the future. This has already been done. Hope this helps,

Hi @ZahidMia, The "Client not authenticated to send mail" error suggests an issue with the outgoing mail server (SMTP) authentication. Please ensure your firewall or any security software is not blocking the SMTP server connection. Otherwise, I suggest you check with your IT Dept for further assistance, as they would have a better understanding of the specific SMTP configuration. Hope this helps,

Hi @Royce_Simpson, I'm sorry you're running into this issue again. And I am unsure what the cause might be. Any chance you could upgrade your Monitor instance to the 2025.0 release to see if this resolves?

On June 17, the third ArcGIS Monitor User Group meeting was held. The topic was a discussion on troubleshooting strategies for working with ArcGIS Monitor. Two experts from Esri Technical Support discuss the top common issues that ArcGIS Monitor users encounter. They also outline troubleshooting strategies to resolve issues related to ArcGIS Monitor installation, component connectivity, and other common errors. This is an intermediate-level presentation. Attendees should have a solid foundation in ArcGIS Enterprise and working knowledge of ArcGIS Monitor. ArcGIS Monitor User Group #3: Troubleshooting Strategies Webinar attendee submitted questions & answers: Q1) Is there documentation to explain what each metric does and how to configure metrics? A1) Yes, please review the help topics for each component. Each metric is defined and explained. Q2) What is the difference between the Analysis & Collections tabs? A2) The Analysis tab displays analysis views (aka. reports of data) while the Collections tab displays collections defined in Monitor. Q3) Is it possible to monitor the geodatabase? A3) Yes, you can register geodatabases as components with ArcGIS Monitor. Q4) Are there any plans to open up the Monitor database to other database such as SQL Server? A4) No, there are no plans to support a different DBMS platform for the AM Database. Q5) Can we add Web Adaptors/Web Servers to Monitor? A5) Currently, ArcGIS Monitor does not collect metrics on web adaptors/web servers. Please submit an enhancement request along with your use case in the ArcGIS Monitor Ideas forum, so we can assess its priority. Q6) What is the recommended service account that needs to run the Monitor service? Does it need to be the ArcGIS service account or can it be a local/domain account? Would there be issues if using local? And do all the agents need to match the server? A6) Information on options for the ArcGIS Monitor account is available in this help topic, Set up and manage an ArcGIS Monitor account. Yes, AM Agents need to be at the same release version as AM Server. Q7) Can one Monitor installation be used to watch both on-prem and cloud servers? A7) Yes, this is supported. Q8) Will upgrading from a version of Monitor 2023.x to 2025.x require a new or updated install of PostgreSQL? A8) No, you should not need to upgrade the PostgreSQL instance when upgrading to Monitor 2025, as long as the PostgreSQL release is supported. Please see this help topic, Required database repository. Q9) I'm currently using ArcGIS Monitor 2023, where I understand the use of AM agents is optional. If I upgrade to version 2024 or later, will I be required to install an AM agent on each ArcGIS Server machine? A9) Yes, starting at the ArcGIS Monitor 2024.0 release the deployment architecture changed. AM Agents will need to be installed on hosts where data will be collected from, such as enterprise portals and ArcGIS Server sites. The exception is for database/geodatabase hosts. Q10) Is there a developer license of ArcGIS Monitor and an SDK? A10) No, there is no developer license of ArcGIS Monitor and there is currently no SDK. If you have specific requirements, please share your feedback on Esri Community in the ArcGIS Monitor forums. Q11) When can we monitor URLs? A11) Starting at ArcGIS Monitor 2025.0, you can register either an ArcGIS Online organization or a 3rd party ArcGIS Server site, then select its web services to register with Monitor. Learn more in the ArcGIS Monitor 2025 release blog. Q12) How can I get the ArcGIS Monitor log files? A12) Please review this help topic, Work with logs.

Hi @KikSiops, > Does this means we need to install agent first? or can we Upgrade the server first to 2024.1 then install 2024.1 agents to the remote servers? You should upgrade the AM Server install first, then install the AM Agents on the component host machines. But the first step is to identify the agent on the AM Server machine. Please follow the upgrade workflow in this help topic, Upgrade ArcGIS Monitor from 2023.3.1 or earlier. Hope this helps,
