I try to render a 30 second 30fps mp4 in hd1080 on a very fast machine. arcgis pro doesn't seem to appreciate the plentiful resources (32 GB ram, about 8 in use, 24 cores, only occasional some little spikes, nvme disk, 6GB gpu with directx12/opengl 4.5) Rendering is slow, about 47mins but my hardware is more or less sitting idle. What am I doing wrong here? using arcgis pro 2.6.3 and a standard license on a windows 10 pro box regards, Bert

Dark mode is great news for us as some fieldworkers need to use some apps during nighttime and they complain about losing nightvision when the screen lights up. An Apple watch may be even a greater opportunity. Can I only enable and disable tracking using the watch or is the app fully functional; eg. can I enter/edit points and so on. Last question, is any Apple watch compatible or does it need certain specs? Do you have a list of applewatches that will work? regards, Bert

Mr Patterson, Thanks! I didn't realise there will be requirements on the desktop too. Seems reasonable as graphic processing can be demanding, but I'm seated behind an amd ryzen 9 and 24 cores are waiting alongside 32GB ram and a 6GB gpu. I expect no problems there 😉 But it's the 'few caveats' I'm afraid of. Still, since nobody seem to know if it will work or not I'll ask to test the drone for a few weeks and register for a free trial of Drone2Map. Regards, Bert

My company plans on buying a DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise dual (I'm not the one deciding) and my question is if this will work in ESRI's drone2map.
I asked ESRI support but there doesn't seem to be a list of compatible/whitelisted uav's and/or camera's.
regards,
Bert

In a week or two I demo a solution for my collegues. It's a quick capture app and a dashboard in which they can report and see damage, danger, polution, that kind of things During the demo I want some data to appear to enhance my story. I was planning to run a notebook or a python script to append some points. Unfortunately I cannot use append because sync is enabled. Also overwriting the feature from arcgis pro doesn't work for the same reason. Is there any other way I can insert data during my presentation other than say, 7 fieldworkers dispersed in the field (freezing their .... off) pushing a button it QuickCapture at a given time? I would value your input, thanks in advance, Bert

Hi Phil, It turns out my virtualized desktop is not windows10 at all, it says windows server 2012 r2 standard. "winver" returns ms windows server 6.3 build 9600, so perhaps this OS is not supported at all? We use VMWare as virtualization platform. I have elevated rights, normally I can install new software without problems. I had an IT admin install survey123 connect with the same results (except for the desktop shortcut which he could, and i could not write) The parameters have no visible effect: thanks for your time, Bert

Hi, I try to install survey123 connect on my (managed and virtualizes) windows10 workstation. Installation is ok untill 96% when I get this: Something about a desktop shortcut not being able to be written, doesn't seem like a big deal. I can find the executable myself but when I start it I only get a small empty window without anything in it. registrykeys are being written. My IT dept can install it without errors, we get a desktop shortcut then but the same empty window as a result. Anyone any ideas on what to do now? I'm using Survey123Connect_x64_3_11_123 but 32bit same result... thanks for your time, Bert ps sorry for using the announcement label but that seems the only one available to me??

So, I get badges based on the old platform? I just logged in to the new forum for the first time and I already have 23 badges?? (but not able to upload images, is this per topic?) anyway, good to see the community is up and running again.

Hello Thomas, Can you explain that in some more detail please? I can append data from the source table in my new feature class, including GlobalID but then what? Thank you for your time. Bert edit: Got it! first, if nessecary copy the feature class into your own gdb (I overlooked that first) append data to the (soon to be related table) 'Use the field map to reconcile schema differences' option for schema type and make sure to map globalid to the ID guid in your table create the relationship class delete extraneous fields in the feature class now present (and related) in the table. Thank you and have a great day! Bert

I just used 'receiver name', also a gnss metadatafield to base the symbology on, empty is red, not empty green, to give our field workers a hint as to where they already were. metadatafields were just added using the arcgis pro ' add gps metadatafields' tool so still empty. This works at the moment but I have had similar problems earlier this year. Did you hear anything new about the bug? Regards, bert
