But it works on a desktop AND it works on a HTC ONE android phone ... On the ipad and iphone the button to store the point stays greyed out. i am able to fill in the form, but I cannot store it. This really does not help selling agol in my company I can assure you. Exactly the same map DID work last week on the iPad and iPhone, this happens in more than one map too Anybody seen this before? . I'm using collector 10.2.7 build 767 on both ipad and iphone and 10.2.7 build1008 on the android ...

Hi Jake, thanks for responding, So, this would lead me to having several feature classes, each developed for it's own purpose. Seems like a good idea! But I would like to present the users with just one list (tree, nest, plant, critter and so on, I have 8 or 9 in total) from which they are led to the correct feature class and asked to fill in the relevant fields. How do I 'connect' (if thats the right word) from that initial list to the correct feature class.

Hi all, I'm trying to develop a collector app where foresters can store their observations in the field, like for example a special tree, animal nestingplace or rare plant they encounter My question is how I can present different (numbers of) fields to note details depending on the subject they choose. When selecting 'tree' I want them to be able to note things like species, height, thickness, hollows or not and if yes, how many. When selecting 'nestingplace' I want tot ask them whether it is in use or not, what animal or plant is living there. When selecting 'plant' all they have to do is picking the name from the domain provided list. At the moment I have a couple of coded domains set up but I'm getting stuck now. I'm on a basic license here, does this handicap me in this project? regards, Bert

I see what you mean after having exported the feature layer to a file geodatabase and downloading that. It contains a table having the pictures as blobs amd a column referencing the point and the picture. Can't you just rename the strings in the ATT_NAME field? Seems to be a string only and the globalID is the unique 'name'. Right now I'm handicapped because my basic license is "Not licensed to edit layers with relationship classes" regards, Bert

biggest numbet is 99. At this stage of development my 'script' if it deserves that name has no loops or variables, just repeating lines of code. I deleted all faulty lines and copied-pasted-and-edited them again from working examples. In the end I had a script which works repeatedly without errors. So it must have been syntax errors of some sort. Now It's working I'll rewrite it using a loop and variables.

Duncan, GREAT! Would not have found that myself for at least a year. Bert edit: Having said that; 8 out of 9 csv's behave as predicted, one still gets converted using a long?? d4fvq? So I threw everything away and rerun my script, now 2 out of 9 domains having a long in stead of a short?? Awkward.

I want to use about ten domains each having between 10-100 coded values. The values may change over time as I receive feedback on the validity. Typing them by hand is not a feasible option I created CSV's using Excel with the following format: 1;Snake 2;Fish 3;Mammal 4;Critter and so on Using arcpy.CreateDomain_management(WorkSpace, "D_all", "all", "LONG", "CODED", "DEFAULT", "DEFAULT") I can create a domain which I can populate using arcpy.TableToDomain_management(all_csv, "Field1", "Field2", WorkSpace, "D_all", "all", "REPLACE") So far, so good. But I don't seem to be able to use this domain in my featureclass properties/subtypes unless I use a 'SHORT' instead of a 'LONG'. Unfortunately when I create the domain using a 'SHORT' I get an error when using the TableToDomain function (error 000307) does anyone has any idea on how to either populate the domain using a 'SHORT' as the coded value or how to get it working in my featureclass properties/subtypes? regards, Bert By the way, how can I mark code as 'code' in this editor??

Hi Jessica, How do you store the photo's? As a blob in the table or as a (hyper-)link to an external source? I'm trying to achieve the same goal, hopefully we can team up.

Well, this might work Jeff, I'll have to check on that, will keep you posted on that. But on my work I do uploads using a server URL like http://kdhl.maps.arcgis.com and that works fine. Is a home use user different from a 'professional user'? regards, Bert

In my limited experience 'failed to execute' was caused by errors in parameters. Does the country has something special like a name with a space? "new zealand" for example? Can you test you script with only this country and troubleshoot from there?
