Could you please please 🙂 tell me the source of your weather data? I have been trying fruitlessly to get weather data into our app for quite some time. Thanks in advance

We went about this slightly differently, showing layers based on scale dependencies, sort of like the old toclayer function in ArcIMS. Our Site It is a pretty customized version of the JavaScript sample viewer.

If you are specifying layerids (and determining layerids from the service) , i think you should be specifying identifyParams.layerIds = myDynamicMapServiceLayer.visibleLayers; identifyParams.layerOption = esri.tasks.IdentifyParameters.LAYER_OPTION_ALL; otherwise i think you would leave out the ids and just say identifyParams.layerOption = esri.tasks.IdentifyParameters.LAYER_OPTION_VISIBLE;

I dont believe you can modify the LODs of the map object, they are defined by the first cached service loaded. Therefore, it is my guess you would have to destroy and recreate the map object based on a service that had the correct levels. I would love to see a solution to this, as my services go from L00 to L20, and i would love to restrict them to L12-L20, but if VE is used, make it L12-L17 as it shuts off here. Or at least display a "no tile found" png.

Look at the $targetPath before and after that statement. My guess is this is where the token is being inserted into the wrong location and you might need to modify that statement.

It looks like you are appending both the token value and the "/legend" value to the end of the url and they are happening in the wrong order. do you have a line like this in your proxy? if(token != null) { reqUrl = reqUrl + (reqUrl.indexOf("?") > -1 ? "&" : "?") + "token=" + token; } my guess is that you are appending the "/legend" after generating the proxy url, if you do it first you should be fine.

We massively customized the Sample Viewer, so we reopen widgets alot. ESRI does not seem to handle this the same way in all cases. In particular, I have alot of issues with the ESRI dijits. The legend, for example, destroys its container, and cant be reopened. For the measurement widget, i try just about everything to get it to "destroy" cleanly. it would not. However, for some reason (the complete opposite of the legend dijit). You dont have to destroy it. (just never call the destroy method). You can just close and reopen it.

cant you just use this.map2.setLevel(this.map.getLevel())); assuming they use the same tiling scheme? you could even put it in an event listener for onextentchange dojo.connect(this.map, "OnExtentChange", this, "changeMap2"); function: changeMap2(){ this.map2.setLevel(this.map.getLevel())); } pardon my terrible pseudo code.

I get the asynchronous nature of Javascript. What i do not understand is where in the API http://help.arcgis.com/EN/webapi/javascript/arcgis/help/jsapi/featurelayer.htm They say the the Properties of a Feature Layer are not available until it is loaded.

Wow that works, an undocumented "feature" eh? The whole reason I am doing this is because queries return coded values and not the "name" value of a domain. Very frustrating. Thank you for the advise.

I had to rename these files in my local api. Additionally, open the file and make sure the dojo.provide("esri.toolbars._VertexMover") for example is correct case. That made my errors go away. Make sure you rename (and repair) both the .js and the .xd.js files, and you rename them in compact and and non. I believe _GraphicMover, _VertexEditor, and _VertexMover all had this issue, so 2 files each in 2 locations, so 12 total files to check. Hi, I faced 2 problems when I tried to implement some features in my application today. Let me describe what I tried to do. I intend to create a label and the rotate the label after creation. E.g. for labeling a street or a river in the right angle. I though about the following steps to complete this goal: Draw an textsymbol on the map and then hand it to the editortoolbar to totate the graphic (by user). First problem I faced was that I could not include or require the esri.toolbars.edit cause I'm loading the API localy .... in detail arcgis_compact version cause I don't use dojo for my GUI. If I include dojo.require(...edit) i get following error log:
"NetworkError: 404 Not Found - http://***/scripts/arcgis_compact/js/esri/toolbars/_GraphicMover.xd.js"
_Graph...r.xd.js
"NetworkError: 404 Not Found - http://***/scripts/arcgis_compact/js/esri/toolbars/_VertexEditor.xd.js"
And subsequent cross domain loading errors when I try to init the toolbar, but that sounds ok if the lib is not loaded properly. I searched these files and they aren't in this dir ... or they are named in another way ... not capitalized as they are in the errorlog (e.g. _vertexEditor.xd.hs). Renaming does not help. So here is the first question ... does so know where the problem is here. I thought a lot about it, but didn't get an idea what might cause this issue. After that I loaded the online sources and the error was gone and I tried to rotate my graphic ... which is a point with a textsymbol. Ok next error saying somethink like ... wrong geometry type ... can't activate editortoolbar. Question here is if I can rotate points with textsymbols ... the API does not prohibit spezial geometries for rotation. If so knows details here I would be thankful for input. Further if so knows another way to complete my goals please feel free to contact me 😉 Sidenote: I know that I could rotate the text with .setAngle() but that's not what I intend to do ;). Further I need to use local resources the app might run in intranet without internet connection. Greets and thanks in advance, Tol

Are you using the Javascript sample viewer? or a custom application. Unfortunately, queryzoom is not a built in functionality. However it is reasonably easy with the API. If you could tell us a bit more about your Server application we could provide a better answer.
