Kory Kramer‌ this is related to the comment I made about Create Project Template taking forever to complete. Pressing the cancel job button from the Job Queue is like pressing the close door button in an elevator......and I have had template jobs that I wanted to cancel when I realized I failed to include something. Only way to stop it is to hard-kill Pro (Dangit Colson STOP PULLING THE POWER CORD OUT!). However, after a CTL-ALT-DEL kill, the job does not attempt to restart upon reopen.  ... View more

I certainly hope that this bug was rated at "Ultra Very Severe" and will be fixed at 2.2.2? As a workaround, I can:  But folks are very used to renaming folder alias in Arc Catalog, this is going to cause some pretty serious issues when they attempt to do the same in Pro. If not fixed, then can Renaming a folder connection be disabled in 2.2.2? Up until now I've been deploying Templates with folder connections to the root of network shares, which you CAN rename, but seeing more and more folks make connections to specific folders. I have seen similar behavior in 2.2.1 when I was converting our existing Arc Map Templates to Pro Layout Styles, and thought it was a byproduct of my hatred of making layouts. FWIW, I get this often in Arc to, and is a function of geometry complexity. Key question here, is that open door thingy a true Bezier Curve, or a line with many vertices? Can you "densify" it if it is Bezier, convert it to a line with many vertices, same behavior? What about a simple dataset, say, just two lines intersecting? ... View more

Two things, one really, the integrated Intel video card I believe uses "shared" memory with the rest of the motherboard, and is not a dedicated GPU with its own memory, which according to ArcGIS Pro 2.2 system requirements—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop , might not minimum requirements to "start and run Pro". This would definitely cause issues when tracing a polygon with thousands of vertices. Just to confirm, can you make a copy of your polygon(s), densify or simplify or otherwise remove (very) many vertices, and try the same thing. If the behavior disappears, your problem is some combination of video card and polygon vertice density, for which a call to TS is really the only solution.  ... View more

For both of these issues, tech support is really going to be the only way you'll get it solved. However, a few things that will make your TS case resolve faster: First thing they'll ask you to do, even if you bought your computer on the morning you called TS, is update your video card driver; In both cases, are the crashes occurring when accessing data on the local computer, local network, or remote network? What kind of data? SDE, Shape, FGDB? What version of windows? Hard drive: Spinning platter, solid state, nVME? For the user with the Quadro 600, see Why is ArcGIS Pro so slow to do anything? You are running Pro on an extremely, very old workstation (by Pro standards) and I suspect due to the age of the video card, TS is going to come back with "Not Supported" You're going to hate this: can you install 2.2.1 on ANOTHER workstation, hopefully with a fresh OS image, and does the crash happen? ahhhhh...another "this is different than Arc so that's why I didn't notice it" thingy. In Arc, when doing field calculate outside of an edit session, I just never paid attention to saving, or not saving, didn't there used to be a warning in Arc about out of "edit" edits? I have a very unique way of forcing a Pro Crash: Pull the workstation power plug. Not only does this destroy your unsaved data, according to IT, it does something horrible to the motherboard if you do it 5 times per day, necessitating a new computer..... ... View more
