The big question is, does the script run when using the account that will run it in task scheduler (right click run as)? Ever since I moved all my task scheduler stuff to Pro, nothing but a nightmare of scripts randomly failing, etc. I currently have one bug open related to pro py running as a scheduled task. Same scripts have worked fine in Arcmap for years. So it's not a windows issue. Also, has your IT person set this task up for you? There are a lot of permissions flaming hoops you have to jump through to get a scheduled task to run, and most users login does not allow it to run if you're logged off.  ... View more

That is very disappointing to hear. I'm curious as to ESRI's reasoning for not supporting disconnected database editing. Just as not everyone has the luxury of installing and maintaining Portal, there are an equal number of shops that are not capable of installing and maintaining ArcGIS Server, and for those that can, as the previous comment points out, it is not feasible or realistic to imply that all of ESRI's customers have the capacity to push everything into feature services when you are limited to the number of GIS servers you can deploy and maintain. I hear that SDE-like capabilities getting baked into server are on the horizon, but returning to the original discussion point, what if you can't install server. Or 50 of them, as I'd need in order  to host every single enterprise feature class I maintain that needs to be available for offline editing? ... View more

Wait for it.... I agree with Dan Patterson‌ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although I'd say that' not what I expect, that's what I know is what will happen due to experience. Putting on my conspiracy theory hat, I'm guessing lots of folks are going into environment, then pressing that button expecting to back to parameters. I don't think that should be the behavior, and think this can be solved by adding more context to the mouse hover event, change "Back" to "Back to Arc Toolbox". I can see where a back arrow will entice folks to "go back to the thing they were doing previously", so, I'll agree with them and conclude that the assumed function of the back arrow is perhaps misleading. But, just confirming that I agree with Dan (!!!!!!!!!!!), the back arrow should go back to toolbox. If you take it away, how will I get back there?  Maybe change the back arrow to the arc toolbox icon?  ... View more

Actually here is your don't-need-a-lawyer answer: As you mention maritime boundaries, which is very clearly a national security issue, it wouldn't even take a court order for ESRI to release it:  Products & Services Privacy Statement Supplement | Esri  Esri will not disclose Customer Data, Administrator Data, Payment Data or Support Data outside of Esri or its controlled subsidiaries and affiliates except (1) as you direct, (2) with permission from an end user, (3) as described in this Products & Services Privacy Statement Supplement or in your agreement(s) with Esri, or (4) in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. We may share Administrator Data with third parties for purposes of fraud prevention. In your case, I'd stand up an internal Portal for ArcGIS, which gives you the same functionality as AGOL, but you have 100% over the security and release of any data stored within. The laws of the State of California, in which ESRI is headquartered, allow for a court to compel ESRI to provide any data it holds as a discovery request response, or FOIA request. Is this likely to happen? Very likely not.......  As such, if an organization has data that cannot be subject to uncontrolled release under those or similar situations, you should not store it in AGOL. Ultimately, your org should have a legal review of your SLA/EULA with ESRI, and develop a policy regarding sensitive data, as neither Geonet or other users will provide an answer that will survive a court challenge.  ... Well it looks like the answer to USB capability is a "No". 2-factor authentication on mobile devices is on our horizon, which will essentially "brick" any application requiring wifi to get data.
