In my case, I found that applying all pending Windows operating system updates (on the machine hosting the SQL Server) fixed the issue. (I then went ahead and applied SQL Server updates as well, but it was the operating system updates that resolved it for me.) This was with a host running MS SQL Server 2019, and two-and-a-half years after the previous post in this topic.

Actually, on second thoughts, I belive that my facetious comment was actually true. That "Default" button does actually do something different to what I thought, and I believe that it does actually work as intended. Note that the "Units" options are under the "Current Project" category of Options! If I change the default Location Units while in an open project, then it DOES actually work for any new map opened WITHIN THAT CURRENT PROJECT. If I open a new project, then that will have reverted to ESRI's default. What we really need, is a default setting that is universal, and not per-project (ie, what most people expect "Default" to mean!).

I had the same problem in 2.8 and am still having the same problem in 3.0.3. It seems that ESRI has no interest is fixing this one. I will also log a job with technical support as I'm thoroughly sick of having to manually select my preferred location units for EVERY SINGLE MAP !!! Or perhaps that "Default" button in the ArcGIS Pro has some other purpose, and I'm mis-understanding what it is supposed to do.

Hi All. When I submitted a support request to ESRI about this a couple of months ago, they recognised it as a bug and created a bug in their bug-tracking system at: https://my.esri.com/#/support/bugs/BUG-000151740 I subscribed to the bug. I just checked the bug again, and it says that it was fixed in version 3.16 back in October. So try version 3.16 and post your results. I have notified our users, but haven't heard back from them yet.

This would save a lot of ridiculous duplication of online layer, maps and apps. At present, we have a web page devoted to each feature in a particular feature class (and it's related features in other feature classes) and the web page includes a web map, which has a separate hosted feature layer group for each map, and a separate app for each map. The only difference between them is which features are included (and the default extent). Ideally, the same hosted feature layer, map and app could be used to service all of these dozens of web pages, just by using a different link to embed them on each web page. The link URL should be able to include details of how to filter the layers.

Perhaps question 9) should be "Is the project file local or on a network drive"? At least two cases here (including my own - a long time ago now), have it on a network drive.

Another way to implement this, instead of a separate feature, would be to simply extend the existing (zoom map frame to existing map view extent) feature to include both all map frames AND all map views as extent sources, PLUS to make the feature available when using a map view AND when viewing a layout. This would mean that you could also zoom one map view to the extent of another map view, or zoom one map frame to the extent of another map frame. Ie, cater for all permutations.

As per this KoryKramer post, https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/arcgis-pro-linking-map-view-to-layout-view/idc-p/1207470/highlight/true#M21044https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/arcgis-pro-linking-map-view-to-layout-view/idc-p/1207475#M21045 There is often a need to have a map view zoomed to the same extent of a map frame in a layout view. Recently ArcGIS Pro implemented a feature to zoom a layout view's map frame to the extent of either the last active map or to a selected map. But it would be useful to have a similar feature that also does it the other way around. This feature should be available in a map view, and also in an activated map frame (although in the latter case, it should not include the current map frame in the list of map frames to use as the source extent to zoom to).

Yes, that's exactly what I need. It would be at least as useful to me as the current (new) functionality that is the other way around (or possibly even more useful). But I can see that both would be useful at times. Yes, I appreciate that there could be many map frames in many layouts in some projects. But I suspect that there are a lot of projects out there that only have one or two layouts with one or two map frames each. PS. Idea posted to: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/zoom-map-view-to-extent-of-a-layout-view-s-map/idi-p/1207477/jump-to/first-unread-message (referencing KoryKramer's post, specifically). Another way to implement this, instead of a separate feature, would be to simply extend the existing feature to include both map frames and map views as extent sources, AND to make the feature available in both map views as well as in layouts. This would mean that you could also zoom one map view to the extent of another map view, or zoom one map frame to the extent of another map frame. Ie, allowing all permutations.

Ditto. I'd like to have a map view zoom to the extent of an existing layout view's extent.

Add us to the list of users who suffer from getting signed out when the device moves between networks (eg, office wi-fi to field cellular). Applies to Windows (laptop) as well as iPad devices. Survey123 version 3.15. VERY annoying, when we have to type in long email addresses as our usernames, and long pass-phrases which are enforced here for security reasons, PLUS 2 factor authentication which requires switching between apps on the device to authenticate!

Thanks Chris. For anybody interested, the XLSForm standard is documented at https://xlsform.org/en/ and the 'geoshape' section says: Record a polygon of multiple GPS coordinates; the last point is the same as the first point. The single-part only is not explicit there, but I suppose it it implied. At least we now know that it's not supported in Survey1213 in any case, as confirmed in the bug notes.

I logged a job with ESRI (Australia) about this issue, and they have referred me to the known bug for this issue at: https://my.esri.com/#/support/bugs/BUG-000141310 The bug is marked as "Closed" which I think indicates that they are not planning to fix it. 😞

We are experiencing the same issue here when the survey is being run through the app, not the browser. The survey utilises the 'INBOX' feature to be able to run the survey on existing 'geoshape' (polygon) features. However, only one part of the polygon feature is displayed on the map. Has anybody got any information from ESRI about this issue?
