Hey, any changes to the popup will apply automatically, and would be compatible with your data and popup formatting as long as you are not doing any customization through code.

Hi, Looks like you are adding the slide button inside the picture panel and toggling the picture panel main container. So when the picture panel is not visible, the button won't be visible. You need to add the button outside of the picture panel so that it remains visible or display another button (probably the most simple) when you are toggling the picture panel off. I would try that way: add a new div in index.html after the picture panel ; add css so that that button is positioned absolutely ; toggle that button on and off depending of the picture panel state. Hope this helps

Sorry about your issue and thanks for sharing the link to your application privately with me. I have been able to reproduce the issue and will try to fix it for our next release around mid November. The issue appears because your Main Stage Actions is configuring the map popup. If you configure the popup back to default, the ‘BACK button’ will be present as expected. You can follow the issue being resolve through GitHub Main Stage Actions that configure the map popup don't have the back button · Issue #44 · Esri/map-journal-storytelling-t… In the meantime, I cannot think about a workaround. You have to choose between dropping the popup configuration or not having the BACK button.

Yes. Did you notice in the builder, in settings that you have a 'Theme' configuration? That's a limited of choices of color but when you download the app, those colors changes can be configured through a configuration file. You would be edit the theme configuration.

Hi, You are welcome. Once you have customized the template it is not possible to upload it back to ArcGIS Online. You have to host it on your own server or use a provider. There is not many options for free web site hosting but there is a lot of cheap one.

That's not supported, the link can only open in a new window. I don't think there is any workaround besides downloading the application, hosting and coding that change. The good news is that we are working on a redesign of the popup and that's a feature currently being discussed. That should become available in the next months.

Hi, I'm afraid there isn't any way to do this through the user interface and it's not easy through code either. If you want user to be able to get back to it, you should not use an intro screen.

Hi, Do you want two icons on the map? If that's your case, I think you should hide one image in the footer using a CSS rule. So you are creating 2 points and you are duplicating the text and image. I don't recommend that, I would rather recommend to only have one point on the map and use a feature of the picture panel to display more than one image. The picture panel can embed an image gallery, see for example that blog post about Flickr Add a Flickr Gallery to your Story Map Tour | ArcGIS Blog ; if that's not exactly what you want, you could develop your own little html page that display multiple images. There is two settings for the picture panel: three-panel and integrated (see settings). It's not very simple to toggle the picture panel in the three-panel layout. There would be Javascript and CSS involved but It's easier to do it with integrated, if you can attach a button to the following code it should work. $("#picturePanel").fadeToggle()

Hi, Looks like this is an issue in the ArcGIS Javascript API that has been resolved with the 3.14 release. Shortlist is using the previous 3.13 version. Could you try to upgrade the API and let us know how it goes? You would have to update those three lines, just replace 3.13 by 3.14 shortlist-storytelling-template-js/index.html at master · Esri/shortlist-storytelling-template-js · GitHub shortlist-storytelling-template-js/index.html at master · Esri/shortlist-storytelling-template-js · GitHub shortlist-storytelling-template-js/index.html at master · Esri/shortlist-storytelling-template-js · GitHub If this does not fix your issue, could you share a link to your application?

There is no way to include image in the description using the builder easily unfortunately but you can use the following tool https://ago-assistant.esri.com/ to manually edit the application data. After the selection the application and clicking "I want to" > "View an item's JSON", scroll down until you find the description and insert your image using the img HTML tag. Then save using the tool in the corner. Be very careful that tool can easily break your application

Thanks for your feedback. Map Journal Side Panel is well suited when you have a lot of narrative but when your narrative is small, this is the expected behavior. We recommand in that case that you use the Floating Panel layout, that configuration is available through the settings. You will not have that issue with the Floating Panel layout as only one section is displayed at a time. If you prefer to keep Side Panel, the behavior you face is because the panel size is dependent on your browser size. Through settings you can hose between three configuration. By choosing the small configuration, I think your story will be fine on any screen size.

Hi, Sorry about your issue. The text editor is sometimes not very cooperative. Could you try to select the image by highlighting it and then use the alignment buttons: Sometimes this will let you edit the image. Otherwise if you can share a link to your application I would be happy to take a look. Your only solution unfortunately maybe to delete and insert the image one more time.

Hi Roi, Thanks for your feedback, the application are not loading as fast as we would like. We are very aware of that issue but our progress on that issue have been limited lately. The two points you mention are correct but unfortunately hard to fix for us as this is standard behavior of the platform. We are hoping to make major progress on the second point with the next release in middle November. If you are using ArcGIS Online the application should be faster to load. If you have deployed it on your own server with customization, you will have to upgrade the application by re-downloading from GitHub. Stay tuned, thanks.
