Hi Andy, It's unfortunately not that simple as pasting the code somewhere, you would need to download and deploy the application on a web server, instructions at Esri/map-series-storytelling-template-js · GitHub and then add the code yourself. I am dedicated towards helping the community but I have never done it and can't take time to code it. Hope someone else in the community can share a similar enhancement with you.

As there is already a basemap switcher in builder mode, this is quite simple. You only have to edit index.html (you don't need the developer version where you have to run grunt). Add the following piece of code after Core.init(...) near the end of index.html require(["dojo/topic", "esri/dijit/BasemapGallery"], function(topic, BasemapGallery) {
topic.subscribe("maptour-ready", function(){
var basemapGallery = new BasemapGallery({
map: app.map
}, "basemapGallery");
basemapGallery.startup();
});
}); Looks like this Add the following css rules (look for 'Custom css rules') #basemapChooser {
display: block;
} Modify the title of the dialog by editing the following tag in index.html <div data-dojo-type="dijit/TitlePane"
data-dojo-props="closable:false, open:false, title: 'Change map'">

Hey, Glad to hear! The map ids are printed in the developer console when the map is loaded. You can also call app.data.getWebmaps() and it will return an array with all the webmap ids used in the story.

Hi, It looks like SlideShare allow author to restrict their presentation from being embedded on other website. I can find plenty of presentation on SlideShare that I can integrate in StoryMaps. Maybe contact the author, it looks like an author could give you a special URL that would work, see the last slide of Privacy Options on SlideShare

Hi, You are welcome. Cool, you can find the instructions on how to use the developer version at Esri/map-series-storytelling-template-js · GitHub and Esri/map-series-storytelling-template-js · GitHub (so this is only if you are modifying more than index.html). This will give output in a new folder a version that will accept your appid configuration in index.html. During development you have to pass it through URL parameter, see Esri/map-series-storytelling-template-js · GitHub

Hi, Sorry about the trouble. You have deployed the developer version of the app that is not ready to be deployed. If you are not making any important customization the one you want to download is the user version http://links.esri.com/storymaps/map_series_template_zip We explain that in the instructions, see Esri/map-series-storytelling-template-js · GitHub This should be more straightforward, we are going to fix this in next release and when you download the developer version you will receive a clear error message.

Map Journal is reusing the popup content that you define in the map viewer except for the zoom button that we have chosen to disable for aesthetics. We hope to make that an option one day, from now, if you want to enable that button, you have to download and customize the application. See the following documentation to see how to download and where to put the CSS rules given below that would enable the button: Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js · GitHub .esriPopup .actionsPane {
display: block!important;
} The direction button is not supported in most ArcGIS Online applications so far, couple of apps support it: Directions widget—Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS | ArcGIS http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=6e02b538bea841ed858ef9f52709b655 http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=556db83093934365a8d7e2f294aa785b http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=556db83093934365a8d7e2f294aa785bYou could integrate one of this apps in the Journal by using a web page media.

Hi, Find below your html fixed, there was couple of attributes that were not supported or useful. In addition to the link given by Stephen, in fact more restriction also apply as you are using a Feature Service to store your image which has slightly different support, see ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) <br> <font size="3" face="georgia" color="grey"><b>Voices of Water</b></font><br>by <i><font color="grey">Tony Mitton from Poems to Perform chosen by Julia Donaldson</font></i><br> (Macmillan, 2013)<br><br><i>When you find the poem:</i><br> <font size="2" face="arial" color="white" style="background-color:#666666"><i style="outline: none;">Playing games with language helps the shapes, sounds and rhythms of the words to be enjoyed as well as their meaning. Think about other sounds that you can hear around you and come up with your own lines for a “Voices of King`s Cross” poem. </i></font>

Hi, Can you share a link to your story map? Looks like this image is loading just fine for me. If you haven't changed anything on Flickr, this may just be a temporary issue. Do you have the issue on multiple computer? In My Stories that's the expected behavior that we just show the web address of the image as the tool cannot get it's name in that context.

Hi Jamie, Thanks for testing those. I am very surprised by the issue you face, that resource is loaded by so many apps in ArcGIS Online. Before I ask internally if this can be a server issue, can you confirm that you have loaded multiple times all those applications and the issue only happen with the third link? Is the issue consistent or does the third application also load sometimes? Can you reproduce it on other computer? Thanks for your help

In addition to Owen comment, you may like a tip on Map Series GitHub page that explain how you can customize the application to change the behavior of a map and allow a click on a map Feature to direct the user to a certain tab/item/bullet in the story: Esri/map-series-storytelling-template-js · GitHub . Some development skills are required, there is some more information in this thread Map point section links · Issue #23 · Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js · GitHub

In addition to Stephen comment, note that popular shortlink services like http://bit.ly let you create a short link and customize it (if you sign-up for a free account), so you can have a link like bit.ly/MyTour that will redirect to the Tour hosted in ArcGIS Online.
