Yes you will need to adjust the Map initial extent. When you switch from three-panel to integrated layout the initial extent isn't updated so some of your point may appear under the media panel. You can adjust the initial extent through the builder Settings dialog (extent tab). When you use the three-panel layout, the extent you define there will define the extent for the map visible part, so your points won't be hidden.

Aaron, I didn't really pay attention to the title of your post. All Story Maps template rely on web maps and so require ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS. As I said you can use a local data source (CSV deployed with the app) or also a Feature Service behind your firewall with a public web map. It is possible and not so complex to modify the source code to get rid of the web map requirements but we don't support it.

Hi, To make a Map Tour public, all the components of your Map Tour need to be shared publicly. So you have to make sure that your MapService, webmap, web mapping application and any other service you may have added to the webmap are shared publicly. For that use SHARE To use data embedded in the application you deploy, you have to use a CSV. You can export your data to a CSV using ArcGIS Desktop or create the CSV using the [URL="https://raw.github.com/Esri/map-tour-storytelling-template-js/master/samples/csv_file__lat_long/Locations.csv"]available sample'> button from the items page. To use data embedded in the application you deploy, you have to use a CSV. You can export your data to a CSV using ArcGIS Desktop or create the CSV using the [URL="https://raw.github.com/Esri/map-tour-storytelling-template-js/master/samples/csv_file__lat_long/Locations.csv"]available sample. Then you have to make the CSV accessible on a public URL and add the reference to [URL="http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcgisonline/index.html#//010q0000009z000000#ESRI_SECTION1_1B6E7C42CA9E48409E885D0754999C85"]the webmap (and remove or set your old layer to not visible). Otherwise if you want to duplicate your Feature Service you can do so using the CREATE SERVICE function. To use web application or webmap url parameters, you need to specify the username of the application owner in index.html (let the webmap and appid properties empty. Then user ?webmap= or ?appid=. configOptions = {
...
webmap: "",
appid: "",
// Optional list of authorized application or web map owners
// Has to be specified when using appid or webmap url parameters (e.g. ["user1"], ["user1", "user2"])
authorizedOwners: [""],
...
};

With the downloadable version, you can hide the caption hover the image using
<style>
#placardContainer {
display: none !important;
}
</style>
If you don't know how to add that rule, look here.

Thanks, I can reproduce on multiple devices too. We are investigating and we will keep you posted here. From now, it seems that the only work around is to the initial extent to a very large extent (can be done through Settings>Extent)

Hi, Sorry for the inconvenience, the source of your issue may be: * ArcGIS Online having temporary trouble creating Feature Service. Did you give it a second chance another day? * The FS creation really failed. You may see it in ArcGIS Online but it may be invalid * The FS creation succeeded but Map Tour didn't received the response in time, so it consider it as failed What you can do is to add your FS to the Map Tour webmap yourself through ArcGIS.com map viewer (use Add->Search for layers, it is important that you use that way and not Add->Add Layer from Web). Then try to use Map Tour builder and see how it goes.

Hello, Assuming you are using the Map Tour template, that isn't possible through the interactive builder. There is advanced technique but be careful to not lose or corrupt your data: load your pictures in a Feature Service or on Flickr/Picasa or Facebook and build a CSV that reference the images. An example CSV is available from the initialization screen. If you need more help, see the Readme (link available through Help>Tips (at the end)) build your Tour using the interactive builder. Use blank/dummy pictures for the points that will use pictures from another point. Then use ArcGIS.com map viewer or ArcGIS Desktop to edit the data. You have to edit two attributes for each points that will use the pictures of another points (attributes pic_url and thumb_url)

No unfortunately that isn't possible with the free account. For further reference, only the owner of the application can access the interactive builder. Members of ArcGIS for Organizations can change the owner of the application between the organization members. It is not mandatory to change the owner of the web map but it is recommended (if your data are stored as a Feature Collection or you change the extent, save won't works).
