Hi Amanda, Sorry, that's strange, could you share your shortlist? Or maybe try to reproduce on a new shortlist so I can take a look? Thanks

Sorry about your issues. Unfortunately the authorized HTML in Map Tour is restricted and especially when using a Feature Service. We are working on publishing an updated list of supported tag and attributes. From now, we have the following article that cover our Map Journal application and it's going to be similar for all apps going forward https://developerscorner.storymaps.arcgis.com/using-custom-html-in-map-journal-70913cfff66e#.qqq4n8tqq To answer your question: if you are using Feature Service you cannot include an iframe, but if you are using a feature collection (all the choice when you create your tour but I need to upload my images in ArcGIS) it is possible. When you receive the following error, you can look at the following documentation to find out what tag this might be Feature services and client applications—Documentation | ArcGIS for Server

Hi Mark, sorry about your issue, that should of course not happen. If you can share the story publicly it's likely I would be able to diagnose. If you can't, I may be able to diagnose if you can paste a copy of the developer console but I can't guarantee (see Using the browser console | WickedlySmart ). If you are an Esri customer, I recommend you contact Esri support that will be able to assist you (see Esri Support Home).

Hi Lindsay, Sorry I may not be able to help more, I don't know the specific about webserver on Mac. This may help Use Your Mac's Built-In Web Server to Share a Website What you need to find is how to access the website from a Browser like Safari or Chrome. Load it and enter the URL http://localhost/ or http://127.0.0.1/ then you should get a listing or all the folder in your 'Sites' folder, click Map Tour and it should work or report an error. Until you get Map Tour to display an error, it means that it's a web server configuration issue. Good luck

Hi, You are welcome. I don't have much advice besides going step by step, first download the application, unzip and access it through localhost. The application should display an error message. If you don't get it to display that, it means there is an error in the setup of your webserver. I can't help much with that. Then paste the id of your app in index.html and make sure it load. Then modify the config file and make sure it load.

You can certainly do that with some customization. What I would do is use the builder to create the Main Stage action then keep the data-storymaps="MJ-ACTION-1470675977260" on the element that you want to trigger the action on hover. Then you can just remove the link. After you catch the hover event using jQuery for example (https://api.jquery.com/hover/), you will just have to do something like this $.each(app.data.getContentActions(), function(i, action){
if (action.id == "the id of the element hovered") {
performAction(action);
}
}); When navigating away from the element if you want to restore the state of the Main Stage, in some case something as simple as below will works. topic.publish("story-perform-action-media", app.data.getCurrentSection().media); But that won't work if you are re configuring the same map (like showing a different layer), for that you would need to copy most of the logic from map-journal-storytelling-template-js/StoryText.js at master · Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js · GitHub .

Story Map Series doesn't offer the ability to enter custom HTML, only Map Journal does through the source view button, see https://developerscorner.storymaps.arcgis.com/using-custom-html-in-map-journal-70913cfff66e#.o3c70a2tu

Thanks for your feedback. Sorry about that, we will fix this with the upcoming release mid September. Besides making sure that your webmap doesn't have a transparent basemap, you can workaround by downloading the app from GitHub (GitHub - Esri/storymap-cascade: The Story Map Cascade℠ app lets you combine narrative text with maps, images, and multim…) and hosting on your own server is a solution. Let me know if that's an option and I can give you the fix.

Thanks Richard, my colleague John Nelson deserve the credits for creating that series of tutorial, we have two more by the way - https://nation.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Cascade/index.html?appid=7a0c165e7b404073b686f95ef98d6241 - https://nation.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Cascade/index.html?appid=a644a02894d246b59ecad16fae25b767 Yes embedding a Cascade in Map Series should works really well, I don't have any specific recommendation we have some general tips about that in the following blog posts: - Embedding a Story Map within a Story Map | ArcGIS Blog - Embedding apps and websites in Story Maps | ArcGIS Blog

Sorry about that, unfortunately we haven't been able to integrate Cascade to My Stories yet. We are working on this. In the mean time you will need to make sure that all the content in your story is properly shared manually. We know it can be a lot of work, a temporary solution could be to create a test Map Journal and insert your web map in it so you can use My Stories to diagnose any content not being shared.

Hi Richard, We still working on making it easier to discover what is an Immersive section and what is Sequential. You probably already use both. Immersive is the one where the narrative panel is scrolling over a full-page media. The following story will show show you example of that https://nation.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Cascade/index.html?appid=5cd671a4cf1844b7854220979574b927

There is two download of the application on GitHub, one is intended for developer that want deep customization and one if you just want to do some configuration. I think you got the wrong one, make sure to use this one http://links.esri.com/storymaps/map_tour_template_zip Also are you opening index.html by clicking on it or going through http://localhost ? From the first screenshot, it seems that it may be your issue.

You can do that through the button that appear in various place. Click media then go to the right tab 'link to content' and paste the URL of your crowdsource. Make sure that your crowdsource is also shared publicly.
