Thanks for your feedback, with the next release, in September, we are going to provide a color selector as well as more style option for title. I know it's odd as of today that those style can be applied temporarily but are not saved. We don't have plan for providing different fonts, feel free to let us know after next release when we introduce more styling if you would still like that.

Hi, Thanks for your feedback. We do disable pop-up on purpose in MapTour. I understand it can be frustrating and I wish we had a good way to let you enable pop-up on specific layer. We are going to reconsider that decision. In the early day we found that enabling pop-up in MapTour can really degrade the user experience as most webmap have pop-up enabled and those can conflict with the navigation of the tour data. Again we are going to revisit that soon. That should not happen in other apps, let me know if that's the case.

The application perform some check when resizing. I am not sure what's best in your case but if you use CSS !important you can fix this .accordion-content { max-height: 500px !important; } or you can catch the window resize event and use setTimeout to execute your code after the app has performed what it has to do but I would not recommend that.

Thanks for your feedback. We are planning to work on that issue. From now we recommend that you keep your panel short with only a few sentence so that it doesn't require a scrollbar. And for longer narrative, you can duplicate the view and use a "none" transition to display multiple panel over your media. Please see the following "How to story" for recommendations and instructions https://nation.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Cascade/index.html?appid=7a0c165e7b404073b686f95ef98d6241

Thanks for your feedback. We will consider your suggestion about removing the default tag but as it's mandatory to have some tag to save the story and this is not a primary concern for most user the first time they save the story, I am not sure there is much we can do in the near future. Have you seen the credits section that you can add at the end of your story through a single click? Does that match your need?

Thanks for your feedback. You are right, the blue scrollbar a global progress indicator just like your browser main scrollbar on Window. But on Safari on Mac the behavior isn't exactly the same and the browser scrollbar isn't displayed except when you scroll. This is our thinking to keep both visible. We think the top scrollbar is a nice style touch and it's better to make sure all platform sees it. But thanks, this will certainly make us think more! About scrollbar that can appear in Immersive panel, we don't like that either and recommend to keep your panel short so that they use only a few sentence and will not require scrollbar. A technique for that is to duplicate the view and split your content over multiple panel, you can see that in action in the following "How To story" https://nation.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Cascade/index.html?appid=7a0c165e7b404073b686f95ef98d6241 . We know that's not always possible so we will look into this.

Thanks for your feedback. The images that you upload in Cascade Builder are not directly visible through "My Content". Our goal with that behavior is to avoid cluttering My Content with potentially a lot of items for those images and avoid issues with sharing permissions that could differ between those items and the story thus creating "broken" story. You can manage those images through the Media Picker in the ArcGIS tab select "This story". All the images in your story should appear there and you can delete them. To replace an image in your story, you have to click the gear icon in the bottom right corner, chose the Manage Tab and click "Change Media". You will have to do that for every instance of the same image. Unfortunately we currently have a bug in the application and not all your images will show up. Only the first 5 may shows. We are looking to fix that one in the next update in September. If that behavior is not what you are looking for, user with a subscription (not public account), can also upload images from "My Content", this will create a new item in "My Content", please see the following blog post Adding and using photos and images in ArcGIS Online | ArcGIS Blog

Hey Tim, I confirm that Portal for ArcGIS is not required, I suspect that it's because your application is deployed in myserver.com/apps/MapSeries/ or myserver.co/home/MapSeries. When the app detect that it's hosted in one of those two configuration it will look for a Portal on the same server. If you can change the folder you should be good. Let me know otherwise.

That code only works when added in the Map Journal text editor (using source mode) but not in a map popup. To have the map popup navigate your Journal, you need some more customization that require to download the application, see the following guide GitHub - Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js: The Story Map Journal is ideal when you want to combine narrative te…

Yes, you can access the maps included in your Journal through the app.maps object, for example app.maps['27e642041b9a498e9d9253b20a5a7d44'].response.map will give you access to the map object of web map with the specific id Then you can use any method of the ArcGIS API for JavaScript. Note that app.maps is only populated when you navigate to the the section containing it. So you have to listen to a map load before placing your click listener // After a map is loaded (when the map starts to render)
topic.subscribe("story-loaded-map", function(result){
console.log("The map", result.id, "has been loaded");
app.maps[result.id].response.map...
}); This code can be placed in index.html after this line map-journal-storytelling-template-js/index.html at master · Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js · GitHub More information about customization at GitHub - Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js: The Story Map Journal is ideal when you want to combine narrative te…

Sorry about that, Map Journal is a bit aggressive and add this button to every image (except in some condition but you can't replicate them as you are using a bootstrap grid). The most simple would be to hide it through a CSS rules: (just add that rule through the source mode) <style>
.btn-fullscreen {
display: none;
}
</style> In that case it will hide all the expand button in your Journal, if you only want to hide those particular button but keep them in rest of the Journal, you could use the thumbnail class that you define on those to be more specific: <style>
.thumbnail .btn-fullscreen {
display: none;
}
</style>

Hi Matthew, Sorry for some reason I thoughts you were trying to insert a web page and not an image. What I was saying would be valid in the case you are inserting a web page (you want Fill). For an image, what you want is to use Fit (the smallest dimension will fit and the image will keep it's ratio). Fill works great when it's ok for your content to be cropped a little like with landscape picture but not for infographics. From your first screenshot it looks like you were using the center option. If that was using the Fit settings you must be running into an issue and I would need to see the app to diagnose more. Feel free to message me or contact Esri support. Screenshot using a similar image with Fit settings, there is only grey padding on left/right
