Sorry about your issue. Unfortunately the sub tag is not well supported in the platform. The documentation about supported HTML tag is available at Supported HTML—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS ; depending on your data source, the behavior is going different: if using a Feature Service: unsupported tags are removed with their content, so you would not even see the 2 if using a web map storage like when you drag and drop a CSV to the Map Viewer, unsupported tags are removed but their content is preserved, this is I think your case Note that if you reload your map in map viewer, you should also see that the html formatting has not be conserved (this filtering only happen when after the web map is saved and changes only applied when reloaded). This is common to any other app of the platform like for example the Viewer application. I suggest you report this issues to ArcGIS ideas website Esri Arcgis Ideas | Ideas Submission Portal

It is not possible to allow to zoom the pictures in any Story Maps apps. As you notice in most apps you can maximize the image to fill almost the whole browser but it's not zoomable. We know it can be frustrating especially on mobile so we are going to look into improving this. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Peter, We think have found what your issue was. It appear that when you do the following the save button won't ever get enabled: - make some changes to the map - save the changes - while the map is saving, the map editor will be frozen and let you know that the map is saving - immediately after that dialog disappear, if you immediately perform an action on the map, like just panning it, the save button won't ever become enabled This is very easy to reproduce and not related to web map content but depending on map content this may be more or less visible as the map may take longer to save. That fix will be deployed in ArcGIS Online on February 29th. Please let me know if you think that's not it

I think it's the Javascript API is forcing the link to open in a new window, I don't think there is a workaround for that (have you tried target="_self"?). If you find a way to do it, note that it won't be optimal as the full app will need to reload. On GitHub we describe a technique that require hosting of the application that will allow you to do that. By default it require the features for which you want to create such an action to be in a single layer and don't support advanced popup like you have but hope this will help you GitHub - Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js: The Story Map Journal is ideal when you want to combine narrative te…

Hi Peter, Thanks for the update, no so far we haven't found anything but we are going to do more testing this week. To diagnose the issue I would need to be able to screenshare with the computer and optionally control it for a few minutes. If you have a screenshare software that would be great if you can connect me when the issue happen, feel free to message me at glazou - esri.com to arrange that. Otherwise just let us know if this happened again or not, that would for sure help narrow the issue. Also when the error happen, if you can look at the developer tool console you may be able to screenshot a message to help me diagnose, see the following document that is very detailed, but you just have to open it and navigate to the console tab Navigating the Console | Web Tools - Google Developers

Thanks, I have been able to reproduce and came up with a first diagnosis but I'm not a server expert so I will have to check with colleagues Pop-up configuration for line layer doesn't stick · Issue #54 · Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js · GitHub Did it used to work on the same layer on the same server?

That must be related to the type of the layer. Could you share the story or any detail about that layer. I don't remember precisely but I know one or two layer type are not supported and unfortunately the builder is not smart enough to tell you when it's not supported and it's just not going to work.

Thanks for the detailed report Peter. We haven't heard or seen that behavior before, we are going to try to reproduce and will post our conclusion here if we found something. Couple of questions if you don't mind: what browser/system do you use? Students are editing their own map it's not one map that is common for all students?

You should not need to use !important for all your override. This must be because your stylesheet is loaded before the app stylesheet. One way is to put your stylesheet in index.html as documented at GitHub - Esri/map-tour-storytelling-template-js: The Story Map Tour is ideal when you want to present a linear, place-ba… Or you can use the loadCSS function after that point GitHub - Esri/map-tour-storytelling-template-js: The Story Map Tour is ideal when you want to present a linear, place-ba… I don't recommend unminifying the CSS, if you want to edit the source code of the application, follow the following guide GitHub - Esri/map-tour-storytelling-template-js: The Story Map Tour is ideal when you want to present a linear, place-ba… but I like better doing override in index.html or separate CSS, it makes it easier to upgrade the application

You are welcome. I am sorry but I should have done some testing yesterday. As Map Journal is already built with Bootstrap, you should not have to include anything to use it but in fact the grid part that you are interested in is not included in the app (the app use a custom built of Bootstrap to save bandwidth). So to use Bootstrap in Map Journal you have to download the application and replace bootstrap with the default version from getbootstrap.com (replace lib-app/bootstrap and follow that guide GitHub - Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js: The Story Map Journal is ideal when you want to combine narrative te… ). It's not simple but if you can do that it should work fine. Otherwise I would recommend that you find some example code online that does what you want and don't require any dependencies (i.e. you can just copy paste the style tag in editor source mode). Like maybe that one https://css-tricks.com/examples/ResponsiveTables/responsive.php Hope you will figure it out.

What you are experiencing is the expected behavior of a table. The table will use all the available width and divide the space for each column equally, you can also specify specific width for each column in pixel or % but I don't think it will help. When the space is limited, the space for the column will be really small. If you want to change the layout depending on the browser size, you have to use the technique called responsive design. Basically instead of using column your data will be on multiple rows. We are using the following framework in the app http://getbootstrap.com/css/#grid . I haven't tested but you should be able to use it directly in the side panel.

Sorry about your issue, that is still an issue in the app that I am looking to fix in the next release (end of February). In the meantime, please find here two possible workaround Integrate a custom address locator (geocoder) · Issue #7 · Esri/map-series-storytelling-template-js · GitHub The configuration of the search services doesn't happen in the app, it happen in ArcGIS Organization administration, you need administrative privilege to access it, see Configure utility services—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS

Thanks for the feedback, there is no way to do that, it's a bug in the application (some of our other applications like Map Series behave correctly), I am going to look into this. I opened an issue on the development tracker to keep track of it Main Stage popup configuration open on the popup at feature centroid instead of where author clicked · Issue #52 · Esri/…

Hi James, The three elements that are used to populate the Facebook dialog are: the item thumbnail, title and the summary. You can edit those information from the application item page or using My Stories | Story Maps . If you clean up your summary to not include any HTML markup I think you will be in a pretty good state. The only part that is not under your control is the start of the title, please let me know if you would like that removed and I can submit an enhancement request for it. Note that after you edit your item, you may have to use the following Facebook tool to see the change immediately https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object
