I have created some jp2 images in ERMapper 2013, also some ecws from the same datasets. When displayed in ArcMap 10.0 SP5, the ecws are in the correct geographic location, but the jp2 images have their lat/long coords inverted. Earlier versions of ERMapper/ArcMap didnt cause this problem. Which software is causing the problem, and can it be fixed? Just quickly try one image (UTM/WGS 84 & local datum) to export JP2 with ER Mapper 2013 SP1 (that is, 'ERDASIMAGINE2013_13.00.0001.exe') and looks OK for ArcGIS 10.0 SP5 (no errors spatially). Also, specify if you're looking for read-only access or WFS-T (transactional support). The latter is more complicated. Also, which sort of specific WFS servers/software you need access to, because different WFS implementations tend to be a bit different from each other, making it hard to support all possible flavors. With more and more 3D data available, those 3D analysis functions should urgently be enabled to also work in free ArcGIS Explorer (and web app). But you are aware of the 'import' function of CGA ? Successfully imported, but the imported CGA not functional at all. Any example available? +++++++ Most likely, two CGA codes should be merged (not imported) and then re-coded to meet the needs. Wondering if you can spend a little time to merge /modify two codes? Hi, Mat, Need your quick help on CGA. How to combine/merge the following ???two CGA rules??? into one, in order to easily extrude tens of buildings (20~85 m) and façade nicely, at same time? Two rules are referred to ???GIS-Driven Buildings.cga??? (from ???Philadelphia???) and ???façade_04.cga??? (from the Tutorial ???Façade Modeling???). [INDENT]Ideally, when all buildings extruded by the new rule (including ???GIS-Driven Buildings.cga???) into 3D, the rule also can ???dynamically??? façade all faces of those buildings (similar to front side by ???façade_04.cga???), which is based on many of the texture assets under the folder ???\assets\facades\???. Ok this is the second time I have posted on this topic and I am reposting because this is having a massive impact on our work. We can not get the raster to polygon tool working. I have tried using .ecw, jpg, .tiff, .GeoTif nothing works. I have left the tool running all weekend and com back on monday and the tool is still going. I have even used my work mates pc and ran it for 8 days and nothing. I have tried it on small images big images single tiles and the same result the tool just will not work. Any ideas and anyone know how to register this issue with ESRI? Running 10.1 SP4. The GP looks working. As recalled, also OK with 10.0 SP5. But, before running any tools on �??raster to vector�??, something more need to done firstly, which could be referred to the general workflow below: 1. Classification or segmentation on raster image (no matter how many bands, 1~multi~hyper) must be done first; 2. �??Grouping�?? on above-classes or segments also advisable; Then, run one of �??raster to vector�?? tools. After that, many �??cleanup�?? are also required, in order to get �??meaningful�?? outcomes (points, polylines, or polygons). Certainly, if directly converting �??raster to vector�??, it will take forever and also get �??un-meaningful�?? results. Regards, ++++ As a reference, ENVI with �??Feature Extraction�?? (5.0 SP3) has this efficient workflow with advanced algorithms to convert 'raster to vector', which is similar to ERDAS Objective. Moreover, to ESRI users, the attractive is that ENVI 5.0 provides 'seamless�?? integration with ArcGIS. For example, object-oriented �??rulesets (*.rul)�?? from desktop ENVI can be run as an ENVI tool inside ArcGIS 10.x, to effectively extract features from rasters, which is just like �??rules (*.cga)�?? from desktop CityEngine can be run in ArcGIS 10.2 to generate 3D city models from GIS data.

Any recommendations on how to georeference an oblique aerial photo in a way that will allow Feature Classes to be overlain on top of it with reasonably good accuracy? I know how to georeference the standard aerial photo, it is the oblique aerials that have me confused. Has anyone worked with obliques in ArcGIS? Timothy, Firstly, with latest camera models, most of all standard airphotos should be �??Direct Georeferenced�?? (usually, in IMU), or can be done in photogrammetry package like ERDAS LPS or PCI OrthoEngine, which support standard camera models. After reading your thread, just tried two inclined urban photos in 'GeoReferencing' of ArcGIS (i.e., without using camera models), which show working, somehow. [INDENT]Generally speaking, it would be helpful, if collecting GCPs correctly, �??where those GCP features should be located at surface or near-surface (not roof�?�), like road intersections, ground corners of buildings (without shadow) �?��?? Also, it is advisable to check the quality of GCPs in perspective mode (ArcGlobe or ArcGIS Explorer), before �??Rectify�?? applied in �??Georeferencing�??. [/INDENT] Another solution is: to use PCI GI (GeoImaging Tools for ArcGIS) first, and then load into MD. We have a bunch of old scanned maps that we want to load into a mosaic data set (ArcGIS 10.2). Some are already georeferenced and some are not. The ones that are not georeferenced end up being placed at 0x0 in the mosaic data set which is fine as a starting point. I was hoping there was a easy way to go back and change/update the georeferencing to its proper location after the fact. But I do not see any info on how to do this. Anyone know? David. Dee Dinah, Not bad idea to try the following quick steps: 1. To combine all raster images (containing 1 & 0) into one raster (0 & 1), firstly to create and add all rasters (�??1�?? & �??0�??) into MD; and then change �??Default Mosaic Operator�??=�??Mean�?? under Mosaic Dataset Properties (so, the key is to take advantage of the MD model); 2. Extract �??1�?? using �??Mask�?? function from the above merged raster in MD to get masked raster via �??Function Chain�?? from �??Image Analysis�??, which only has the value �??1�??; (by now, the result mostly meets your need. If not, go to the next); 3. Export the above-masked �??1�?? raster into vector for post-processing, if needed.

Hi, I'm trying to identify standing water/wet areas on a WorldView 2 ...also trying to differentiate water from shadows. Any suggestions on approaches? Thanks much William, If understanding correctly, you want to 'extract' information (lakes, rivers) from image? If so, the solutions vary, because each solution relies on the output that you are expecting. For your case, even though three kinds of feature are similar by NIR(s) (including water, shadow, and vegetation), spectra values are still different with NVDI index. So, if satisfied with a �??raster�?? mapping on water body, visible band against the near-infra band (NDVI) may be sufficient to help you to isolate those (lakes, river) and others. With ArcGIS, you can create MD first (that is, to pansharpen the WV-2 MS with PAN by default via Raster Type: World View -2), and then apply this MD with NVDI within �??Image Analysis�??. Generally, you will easily and quickly get color-coded indexing map from 0 ~255, so that you can conveniently export desired values (water mostly between 10~70, for your case, maybe the range change) for further editing�?� Of course, if planning to more accurately extract features (lakes, rivers, meadows, forest stands), saying, to update GIS database, it is very often to use more advanced algorithms like object-oriented feature extractions, mainly from other solution vendors like ERDAS �??Objective�?? or ENVI �??Feature Extraction�??; ++++++++++ By the way, if you just want to 'enhance' image to differentiate objects (water, shadow) in image, it would be easy for you just to play 'function chain' within MD, including histogram stretching, and/or NIR ratio operating ...
