So, far looking at the samples is a little slow for both chrome 5 and firefox 36. Definitely slower in chrome, though, but then this is still silverlight 3, so official support for chrome does not start yet

Sorry, no, that was not the intent at all. I just meant to let you know that there was no 64 bit version of PostgreSQL on Windows that we could use, thus we could not build a 64 bit Windows version of ArcSDE for PostgreSQL, that's all. The other technical details provided in that thread may be interesting, but are really just extra info you probably didn't need. Robert I know that was not your intent. You are a nice person. I am stating a fact, that yes, I am a little ignorant, for some things, and in this case, I never realized there was no 64 bit version. I added the quote to say to myself that right there they state there is no win 64 version, thats all.

PostgreSQL uses a multi-process architecture, not multi-threaded. In a multi-threaded database server, all client connections share the memory space, and are again limited by the total addressable memory region. With PostgreSQL, you could easily have more than 1Gb per backend (if necessary) without running out of memory, which significantly pushes away the point when you need to go to 64-bit. Robert Thanks Robert, I am a bit ignorant

Will the generation of pmf files be supported with arcpy? I don't remember seeing anything in the help.

Hi Beta users, We would like to get some feedback from our Beta users regarding your Geodatabase upgrades. We are looking to hear about any of the following: - Problems/errors upgrading - Usability >>> Was it hard to figure out? How did you figure out what to do? - Documentation >>> Was there anything that wasn??t clear in the doc? Was the doc hard to find? - Suggestions >>> Is there anything that you would like to see improved about the new upgrade experience? It doesn??t all have to be problems you have encountered, let us know what you liked as well :). Please let us know what type of Geodatabase you are upgrading, what was the pre-upgrade release, and if it was ArcSDE what DBMS and platform. We are working hard to make this release the best yet and your feedback is greatly appreciated. I would make this a sticky. I had problems at beta 1, but none so far at beta 2. I found out from you, thanks to you i did not read the help, but will have Bart take a look see. My upgrades so far have been all file GBs, I like that I can upgrade between betas, thats nice. Also, it just seems more unified inside of the whole ArcGIS experience, while before, from a SDE perspective, it was a bit more confusing, it seemed like your upgrade was handled as part of the install, but then sometimes things just didn't work right, so you forced to go sde command line, now with this approach, there is one way to upgrade across all platforms. This greatly simplifies the understanding of how to upgrade a GDB, one way for all is best, at least this is my thinking. I am sure there are command line die hards, that will not like this, but there are more of us (GUI users), than command line users.

In January, we started building a version of ArcSDE 10 for PostgreSQL on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 update 4. This is a 64 bit implementation. Our goal is to fully test and certify this as ready to ship with pre-release in March. Robert Very aggressive scheduling, Robert. Good to know. Thanks for the prompt response. PG on Linux 64, what about on windows 64?

Can you provide some more information about exactly what you are seeing? These are just the default values that are inserted in the data files, and log files entry for installing. 100 MB actually makes a bit more sense, I am just noting that there is a change.

Did you lie outright when you said that the C++ SDK would be available at beta 2, or did you let it slip? Either way, this release still is incomplete. Kind of a strong statement. Be nice. This is a privilege to test, not a requirement. Besides, beta 2 just came out yesterday, the APIs haven't been put out yet, either. ESRI has a lot on their plate for this release. The ArcGIS 10 release won't be complete until Final, anyway, just give them time, and be nice about it.
