So, I haven't really hit this ext in awhile (so bear with me in my ignorance), but I like the fact that I can maximize the wizard and drag it to another screen. This is very, very nice. It also stays on top of everything, so if i launch an Add field while the wizard is open, my Add Field dialog can get hidden behind the wizard which means more button clicks to move the wizard out of the way, this I am not so keen on, especially if I have a setting where my window goes active where my cursor is located. If I run the histogram tool, it defaults to the first record in the attribute and processes, so if I have a large layer, I can either let it run, or click esc. it seems like it should not run until I tell it to run. Is this the expected behavior for Histogram? i do like that the wizard is modeless, where I can run the wizard and run other tools while previewing all my data, this is another great feature. More data at the same time, I like this.

Hi Ted, Formatting text (like adding dashes between numbers) is not something that dynamic text supports. To do this you would need to populate an attribute field with the correct format in advance. I'm looking into your selection issues. Thanks, David This would be a great enhancement request then, I suppose. The selected text is a problem with my map. A new mxd, has no issues. Tested and verified with Chris from Support.

Looking at the following help topic adding_text_to_a_map.chm::/00s800000017000000.htm it lists how to manipulate formatting text, but these appear to be normal text, what about dynamic text. I want to be able to put dashes in to my string, like 101-01, or 123-456-789, how does one do that?

So, looking at the pics, you are drawing the arc through the line that is to be reshaped rather than trying to snap to the end point, akin to how we currently use reshape. and then finishing it up by crossing the line.

Since it can be time-consuming to click all the edges manually, Align Edge is less useful when attempting to fix edges that are braided, where some edges overlap and some edges have gaps. Braided edges are better fixed with Align To Shape, which is another new alignment tool that I will introduce in a future post. So, the align to shape works with topology as well, or only with map topology, or does that matter?

If I select the text, I CANNOT delete the text, the delete button on the keyboard is not working. Let me know if you want me to file as a bug.

If I select the dynamic text, I am not seeing the text as actually being selected. The only way I can see that the text is selected, is hover over the text with the cursor, and note that the cursor has changed shape. I would expect some sort of feedback. Let me know if you want me to file as a bug.

The Python Add-In Wizard will be deployed as a separate download when ArcGIS 10.1 goes to final release. The ArcGIS Desktop help will provide links to the location of the download. Will editor tracking work with relationship classes, if we enable tracking, for both 1:M and 1:1? No, but if you do a selection, open up the related table, then run an insert cursor, or something to the table, then yes, I am thinking should work in this way.

1. Use add-in wizard to set up add-in 2. Edit .py file in install/ to your liking 3. Run makeaddin.py 4. Double-click the .esriaddin file to install This should be in the doc, in a nutshell. Simple. How will this be deployed when 10.1 goes to release, same way, in that it will be a separate download, or will it be included in the install path for desktop.
