Sometimes, when you export feature class to a shp file, some of the field names are being truncated. How can I keep full field names after exporting the data in shp file?

I have a feature class that I want to change field length. However it does not let me modify the value. I copied that feature class, still not changeable. When I create a new feature class in same file geodatabase , I can change field length but not for that specific data. How can I make data to permit field length change?

I was trying to set up path to be able to call qgis modules as it defined in their website Introduction and set PYTHONPATH=c:\qgispath\python . However, I still get import error. I want to be able to call this module from Spider or Python idle under arcgis. Does anyone know how to do that or have more detailed explained documentation? I can call the arcpy from spider but I could not achieve that for qgis.core module.

In arcgis 10.3 , after opening a arcmap document it was saved a day ago, it appeared none of the object is selectable. I can only select object when I go attribute table and select one line, then object appears as selected. I have no idea why this is happening. İf I move any layer to a new arcmap document, it is still not selectable. What could be the reason? Is there anyone who had similar problem?

Hi George, I was wondering if you could have any idea about our problem. We can actually connect to ArcSDE 9.1 with 10.2 ArcGIS desktop, we can use existing data from database with no problem. However when we import a new data, we get Spatial Index Error and data cannot be displayed on ArcMap. Do you have any suggestion?

Hi, we have recently had same problem and it was impeding us to import data when you are using 10.2 with arcsde 9.1. Technical support suggest to upgrade our arcsde and told us if arcsde is lower than 9.3, support is not available and we had to reinstall 9.3 arcgis desktop. Upgrading seems not feasible at the moment, I was wondering if you have found any solution for your connection problem.

I forgot to mention, to be able to create topology rules you need to work on in geodatabase and inside that create a dataset and your data that you are editing should be under this dataset Go to catalog and right click to your dataset that you put your editing feature classes , then go to new and press topology and on the way it will ask which feature classes will be contributing topology then when you keep going next you will be finding the page you can add rules depending on your feature class it will give you choices for rules and you can add those To activate topology tool. Start editing for your feature class under dataset and activate the topology tool as below Then in topology click first icon it will ask layers that participate in rules

You need to create topology and add rules to topology. Check this link http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#/An_overview_of_the_Topology_toolset/0017000000nn000000/ An overview of topology in ArcGIS ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) let me know if you cannot figure it out I can make you print screen of tools and icons you need to use.
