Yes it is very interesting, I tried and it works, only thing is I am using 10.2.2 and "Buffer_management" needs to be replaced with "Buffer_analysis".

If your Cad does not have already identified coordinate system, you need to georeference your data. If you do not have a world file to use. I would suggest you to do spatial adjustment. Still you need a data to indicate object's correct location

We recently upgraded our ArcMaps from 9.3 to 10.2.1 and we used to work with 9.3 version arcsde. Now the problem we are facing is when we import a data into database, it gives drawing error and states " spatial index does not exist". Is there anyone who has any idea about how to solve this problem?

I want to create style file for a point data which will be combination of many style file. But problem is two different style file has same code value for two different feature with different sembology. Is there anyone who have any suggestion? I know I can create new code and assign this code to that feature manually but it would be very big hassle and I am concerned that I may miss some values.

Thanks for your try. I have a additional question. Do you have ARCGIS 64 bit geoprocessing path installed? The link below shows a thread about that. ArcGIS 10.2 Installation for 64-bit geoprocessing - Geographic Information Systems Stack Exchange If you had that in computer, ArcGIS is going to work with 64 bit instead of default setting of 32 bit and your arcgis python path will be like C:\Python27\ArcGISx6410.2 – (64-bit) instead of C:\Python27\ArcGIS10.2 – (32-bit). If you have not installed that and your tool is working fine that means I think the problem definitely stems from installing 64 bit geoprocessing ArcGIS patch. I would greatly appreciate if you could let me know if your ARCGIS working as 32 or 64 bit. Thanks

Unfortunately, could not solved the problem, the customer service even refusing to accept tthere is a problem. They kept saying they do not have problem when they try on their computer. How ever I am suspicious about 64 bit background-geoprocessing, when you install your ArcGIS software, did you install 64 bit background-geoproscessing afterward?

Hi Johannes, Thanks for trying to help I checked those before, the difference is I am not working in a mxd document and arcpy. mapping.ListLayers would not help, the thing is when I use arcpy.MakeFeatureLayer_management tool, it will create layer without requiring the user to have any mxd and it will be created in memory, only solution seems like just pick names of layers from code and use arcpy.Delete_management to erase them piece by piece. If you have another idea I would greatly appreciate that.

I am creating layers from shp file during my process on my python code.Using makefeaturelayer tool puts lock file to the shp file and, if I do not delete that layer inside the code, I cannot erase that shp file due to lock. My question is is there any way to extract names of created layers, so that I can erase them and prevent my shps having a lock file ?

Ok, I had somebody test this for me with ArcGIS 10.2.1 and it works fine on their program. Now only difference is the fact that I had my ArcGIS with 64 bit bacground-geoprcessing installed. Seems like that might be the problem. I uninstall arcgis and install the software again and still getting same issue.. Maybe uninstalling is not enough to go back to 32bit geoprocessing,is it possible somehow at registry it is still getting paths to run tools from 64 bits ?

We have some point data in gdb and when I export it to a shp file ,it is excluding some arbitrary points and the size become 1.01 GB. Is 1 GB is a limit that a shp file can hold or are there other reasons that shp is being exported with missing data?
