I have noticed the same thing. I had to create a separate parcel fabric to get it to work correctly, then append it into the original.

I am experiencing some strange behavior with the parcel fabric when I am creating a subdivision. I have posted another thread here showing the subdivision boundary getting corrupted after using the boundary to construct the lots using "Construct From Parent" method. I am now seeing tax parcel lines jumping around after joining a new parcel in preparation to do a remainder parcel. I am certain that these problems are from errors in the joining process. The process I use is the same process outlined in the workflow - 1 - create the subdivision boundary, 2- Use Construct From Parent on the sub boundary to build the lots, 3- Duplicate the lots to tax parcels. After completing the subdivision, if I select a large lot that has several smaller lots sharing one of its lot lines and select "Rejoin" it shows all of the join links with the bounding lots. If I select the tax parcel that was created from the same lot using the duplicate method and select "Rejoin" for the tax parcel, there are no join links other than the corners of the lot, all of the join links with adjacent tax parcels are gone. Am I missing a step? Do I need to duplicate as unjoined and then join each tax parcel (which seems counterproductive)? I appreciate any input. Thanks, Jeff Ward Summit County GIS

It has happened again. Breaking up a large subdivision into lots, hit "Build and Keep All Current" and my northern sub boundary jumped down to a lot corner. Unjoined subdivision and rejoined it without doing anything to the subdivision boundary lines and it was back where it was supposed to be.

It would sure be handy if I could add more than one record to the TaxParcelCondo table at a time. I have a sixty unit condo that I have to enter one unit at a time into the condo table. It would be nice if there were a tool like the Name Parcels tool - showing a beginning unit number and a prefix for the ParcelID and then a total number of units to be added. I could add floor designations later and in groups.

Hi, I have been entering subdivisions into an SDE parcel fabric. After working in another area, I noticed that one of the subdivisions had a strange pie shaped piece removed from it. When I looked closer, it appeared as though the subdivision boundary somehow became joined with a radial point. See image (recreated the anomaly with graphics after I fixed the problem): I called tech support and we narrowed it down to the subdivision boundary somehow becoming corrupted, the solution was to unjoin the subdivision boundary, delete that segment of the subdivision boundary, recreate it making sure all of the from and to points are maintained, then rejoin the subdivision. I asked why it happened, and the tech said it was an inadvertent editor error. I don't think it was, we have left that subdivision alone after creating it. Has anyone else experienced this type of anomaly? I don't know that I can trust the parcel fabric if I have to check every parcel to make sure it looks the way it should after every join or reconcile and post. Any ideas what might have caused this? Thanks,

Thanks for your quick response. 1)Have you tried enabling editing on the editor toolbar and then going into the attribute table and trying to change the values? I want to be able to change the elevation values in bulk instead of one at a time, so the attribute table entry isn't going to work. I want to use the field calculator. 2) you could create a new field in your attribute table for your elevations, and then calculate them off of your other fields. I was able to add my own field and calculate it, but I need to update the Z field in the parcel fabric so it is available for adjustments, and it is apparently blocked from bulk updates. I am able to calculate the Accuracy Comments field to populate it with the index number to the tie sheet, so that should save us some time.

Hey Everyone, I was hoping to be able to update the Z field in the Control Points layer using a join and the field calculator, but it looks like that is not an option. The Field Calculator is grayed out. Is the field calculator not allowed when working with a parcel fabric? If so, does anyone have a work-around for updating elevations or any of the other fields in bulk? I can change field values for multiple points in the attribute window, but that only works if I am giving them all the same value, this isn't the case with my elevations. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks,

That will be much better than filling out each attribute every time, but can you make certain fields exempt? I would like to collect the same date, editor ID etc. but there are some fields that I would like to force the field crews to collect each time. Thanks,

Tim, Thanks for the reply. This issue happened so long ago, I can't really remember the solution. I believe I had two things against me, the parcel was marked as historic, and I had neglected to change the line type from Origin to Point of Beginning to Standard Boundary. So I had an unselectable historic parcel. I think I was able to switch it from being historical in the tax parcels attribute table by searching on the PlanID. Then I was able to open it and change the lines to the Standard Boundary type. Thanks for the response.

Thanks for the help Frank, so I will join at the radius point and the endpoint of the arc that both parcels share.

Hi Everyone, I am trying to join a parcel to an existing parcel where one of the points of the joining parcel is along a curve of the existing parcel. When I try to add a join link from the point to the line, I get the "Create join link failed: To create a join link, select 2 points or select a point and a line (no curve)." error message. What do I need to do in this case? Leave that point unjoined and create links for all of the other points? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi Again, I am wondering what the use of the "Compiled" field is? The alias is "Compiled From Records". There is no description in the data dictionary, and I can't find anything in the documentation. Does it impact the adjustment process? Thanks,

Hi, We have noticed something odd occurring when we create a new parcel and create remainder parcels that the new parcel overlaps, we have noticed that the Stated Area field is getting populated for some parcels but not others. Is there something that determines when this field is populated? Thanks,
