Can someone please explain how and when acreage is calculated for the Stated Area field? Our cadastral mapper is experiencing strange behavior with acreages calculated after running the Parcel Remainder task - including more acreage than the original parcel. I ran the same remainder and there was no acreage calculated at all. Do we need to manually maintain that field? I was under the impression that the fabric would handle it. Thanks, Jeff Ward GIS Coordinator Summit County, Utah

Has anyone experienced problems accessing web maps built with the flex viewer after upgrading to Flash Player 15? I am getting an error 2032 on the screen when the map attempts to load. Thanks, Jeff

Hey David, I hope you are well, it's been a while since Memphis. I don't know much about geoprocessing services, but this app uses one to create mailing labels: Land Use Public Notification | ArcGIS for Local Government Maybe you could copy and paste or see how that app uses one. Jeff

This is the bug number they gave me. It says it is fixed though.

Julia at tech support was able to run the tool. It turns out the query builder was adding double quotes around my fields, causing something to go wrong with the query. If I remove the double quotes I am able to run the tool and get the results I need. I will post further updates as I hear back from tech support

You were right Amir, I didn't have a Z coordinate system set for my file geodatabase parcel fabric feature dataset. It's weird that I was able to export xmls and import them to the server before the update to 10.3 though.

I will submit it to tech support. We were working on local file geodatabases and then moving them to the server using cadastral XML files because we were experiencing painfully slow editing draw times and the parcel entry grid couldn't keep up with our typing. I have since fixed that problem, but I have been moving what I have worked on over to the server. My problem with the server was my spatial index was using a huge geographic extent which slowed down our editing. I recalculated the extent and it works fine.

So I installed the 10.3 pre-release today. When I export a cadastral xml from one geodatabase and attempt to append it to another parcel fabric, I get an error that the datum doesn't match. Both feature datasets are using the same coordinate system. I found out by comparing the xml created after the upgade to 10.3 and one created before - that the esrispatialreference tag for the xml file from the 10.3 export is missing the vertical coordinate system parameter at the end of the line. Is this a bug? I fixed it by pasting the missing info from an older xml. My tech support footprint has become much bigger as of late.

I was experiencing slow edit speeds with our parcel editing. I finally recalculated the extent of our spatial index and that fixed my problem. Link here.

I followed your process and I was able to merge a multi-part subdivision into a single subdivision. Two of the satellite parts we were able to create with connection lines, but two others didn't have anywhere that we were able to create connection lines to start the part. So we created them as individual subdivisions and merged them into the original, then recreated the origin to POB lines. I will mention that to create the origin lines, we had to unjoin the merged subdivision, create the lines reverse the from-to points and reverse the bearings and then join it again.

Thanks Jason Camerano, I will follow the process you outlined. In cases where there isn't a connection line described (separate, distant portions that use a POB and tie point) would I just enter more origin to POB lines for the second or third parts after entering the traverse for the first part? Or should they be connection lines? I ask this because I'm not sure what process/fields/lines the LSA utilizes to adjust the fabric. Is there a diagram or something that shows the LSA adjustment process, what fields it uses to make adjustments? Thanks, Jeff

How do you folks handle multi-part subdivisions in the parcel fabric? I have several that describe the parts on either side of the road and not the road itself. When I enter both parts then merge them to get one record for the subdivision I lose the origin connection lines. Does missing the origin lines affect how things are adjusted when an LSA is done on the fabric? Should I leave them as separate polygons with the same name? Thanks, Jeff Ward Summit County GIS
