To All ArcReader Users: Can I use the ArcReader creation file toolbar in ArcMap v10.2 to create a pmf that can be opened in ArcReader v10.0? This would be something similar to a SaveAs in ArcMap where you can save the mxd to an earlier version.

Do you need to process SDE annotation feature classes differently than standard SDE feature classes? I think I see why my annotation feature classes are not being processed. I bypass group layers so I only process individual layers. In looking at the properties of an annotation feature class, it appears to be a group layer. Do you bypass group layers in your script?

Lorinda: Does your python script work on updating the datasources for annotation feature classes in SDE? I thought mine was processing this type of layer, but it is not.

Does the data need to reside on the server? How about registering the data from the network location with a UNC path (You will get a warning notice about UNC paths, but it is not high severity so its not important). In this way, you would not need to copy data.

Lorinda: There is a bug for this issue NIM092164 that ESRI has classified with a low severity (I don't agree with that assessment). An ESRI Technical Support supervisor told me that only 6 users has identified this as an issue. Please contact technical support about this issue so they might have more of an impetus to fix the bug. I need to run my script in v10.0 before upgrading to v10.2, but the bug may still exist in v10.2 (I do not know). What version of ArcGIS Desktop are you running python with?

I do not have my license manager installed on the same server as Arcgis Server, but I do have ArcGIS Desktop installed on the same server. I was easily able to upgrade the license manager to v10.2 without upgrading the ArcGIS Desktop software.

Jake: Your response points to a link to NIM087125 which asks me to log into an ESRI webpage. I use my ESRI credentials, but I cannot get into this website. How else can I find out about this NIM as I cannot access it from the ESRI Customer Care page either (I can only see NIMs created by members of my organization)?

Barry: Is there any chance you are connecting to SDE with a different user after you made the schema change? I ask because you register SDE connections (at least Oracle connections) with a specific user connection. If you originally published a service with user1 where the SDE connection is registered with ArcGIS Server (AGS) and then you made some changes to the mxd which include a connection to SDE with user2 where the SDE connection is not registered with AGS, then the SDE will be automatically copied to the AGS server.
