Does anyone know if there is a way to print or export the heatmap using the standard print widget? It seems to disappear during the conversion to PDF, JPG, etc. Is anyone else having this issue or have a workaround? Thanks! Jack Hi Jack, The heat map layer is created using the flash player display engine and client-side layer. Unfortunately there is no easy way to recreate that same layer server side since the algorithms are different from the spatial analyst functionality. There are some other print libraries such as Alive PDF that can create the client side components. Hope this helps answer your question.

Whenever you create your locator and pick an address style, the underlying data needs to support the Locator Style you choose. When you populate the "Field Map" between the locator style and the fields in the data source, you need to have data for "Min X value for extent, Max X value for extent, Min Y value for extent, and Max Y value for extent". Then you can choose to have the outputs of the locator properties to include the "Return display extent output fields". If your data source does not contain this reference data, you would need to collect or create that data. Also, commerical datasets for purchase similar to Streetmap Premium for ArcGIS contain this detailed level of data. See the "Return display extent out fields" in the ArcGIS help. Hope this helps clarify your issue.

To enable autoComplete, you need to turn on the autoComplete property. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/flex-api/apiref/com/esri/ags/components/Geocoder.html#autoComplete The zoom to location only works if the geocode service returns something similar to an extent that can be used for the zoom. For example, the esri-provided locator returns Xmin, Xmax, Ymin, Ymax fields in geographics coordinates that the geocoder can then use to zoom with. Hi ALL, ii try to use this widget with polygon features to represent the developpement of the (vegetation, builts) in many years . Is it Possible.. ? tnx a lot Hi Sofie, Due to the way the custom layer is written and the way that the heatmap code works it requires point features. I simplified the original code base so you can just point the ArcGISHeatMapLayer to a point layer in a map service or feature service. If you don't want to have to write a bunch of custom code, the easiest thing to do would be to create centroid points from your polygon features. If you have ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced (what used to be called ArcInfo), then the "Feature to Point" tool in the "Data Management" toolbox can create polygon centroids (points) for you. You would then publish these points in a service and use that layer. Hope that helps,

How practical/possible is it to make this widget dynamic. So I can selected from all of my dynamic layers instead of having to hardwire only one layer into the code? Hi Joe, It is possible and practical, just not implemented yet. You can always implement it yourself, but I've added a GitHub issue to address this enhancement request also. I just didn't implement this functionality initially.

I have issues making it work by only modifying the widget parameters in Flex Viewer! Could you please tell me if you see something in the configuration statement? Thanks! <url>http://ec2-XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX.compute-1.amazonaws.com/arcgis/rest/services/Municipalites/MapServer</url> <classificationLayerName>egdb.DBO.sda_mus</classificationLayerName> <classificationLayerID>0</classificationLayerID> <classificationMethodTypeDescs>Natural Breaks,Quantile,Equal Interval</classificationMethodTypeDescs> <classificationMethodTypes>esriClassifyNaturalBreaks,esriClassifyQuantile,esriClassifyEqualInterval</classificationMethodTypes> <classificationFieldTypeDescs>Test</classificationFieldTypeDescs> <classificationFieldTypes>Thematic</classificationFieldTypes> Double check your services directory for the layer id and layer name, see the graphic below. Make sure your layer name and id match in your services directory. The classificationFieldTypes are the "physical" names of the fields in your sda_mus layer, and the classificationFieldTypeDescs are the aliases that will be presented to the user in the User Interface. <classificationFieldTypeDescs>Field Alias 1,Field Alias 2</classificationFieldTypeDescs> <classificationFieldTypes>Field1,Field2</classificationFieldTypes> Make sure your server is running ArcGIS 10.1 software or later, also make sure you have enabled the "dynamic capability" of the service in the ArcGIS Server Manager. The service will report "supportsDynamicLayers" true. See: http://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/Census/MapServer?f=pjson. See number 5 in the list: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/Enabling_dynamic_layers_on_a_map_service_in_Manager/015400000570000000/ Hope this helps,

can i use thematic widget with arcgis 10.0 FV 3.0 AND FB SDK 4.6 ????????????? Hi Sofie, The thematic widget uses the server's (dynamic) thematic rendering capabilities which was introduced in version ArcGIS 10.1. If you upgrade your server software to version 10.1 and compile the widget for ArcGIS API/Viewer 3.0, then it will work. See: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/flex-api/apiref/index.html?com/esri/ags/tasks/GenerateRendererTask.html&com/esri/ags/tasks/class-list.html

Can I use two layers on thematic widget? Hi Fabiano, Currently the compiled configuration supports just one layer at a time. You could customize the source code to meet your needs if that is an option for you.

Is there a way, or has anyone implemented this widget with a zoom level constraint? I would like to restrict this widget to very tight zoom levels as I'm dealing with a very large set of point data and a limit of only 1000 points on the map service. Hi James, Are you thinking that you would just like to be able to set the minScale and maxScale for the layer and only have the layer visible if isInScaleRange returned true? Or were you thinking something more sophisticated?

THanks Hi Zahid, I just tested a very simple example of this using the following configuration: FlashBuilder 4.6 updated Flex SDK: 4.6.0 using AIR SDK 3.4 iPad 2 (wifi only version) iOS 6.0 (10A403) ArcGIS 3.1 API for Flex (agslib-3.1-2012-12-12.swc) Here's the very simple code: <s:View xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" xmlns:ns="http://www.esri.com/2008/ags" actionBarVisible="false" title="HomeView"> <fx:Declarations> <!-- Place non-visual elements (e.g., services, value objects) here --> </fx:Declarations> <ns:Map level="14" zoomSliderVisible="false"> <ns:center> <ns:WebMercatorMapPoint lon="-122.442594" lat="37.760715"/> </ns:center> <ns:ArcGISTiledMapServiceLayer url="http://server.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/NatGeo_World_Map/MapServer"/> <ns:FeatureLayer url="http://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/SF311/FeatureServer/0"/> </ns:Map> </s:View> If you open a browser (such as Safari) on the device, are you able to load the JSON?
