Hello there,
Since yesterday, I have always run into frequent crashing of ArcGIS Pro when editing a simple feature class (filling in values in a field). I have the up-to-date ArcGIS Pro on desktop (WIN10) with an organization license. The task should have been easy since I have a small dataset. The only "new" actions I had in the past few days were 1) updated to Pro 2.7.26828 following the automatic pop-up; and 2) labeled the annotation on the scene (and removed later).
I have tried all possible suggestions found online, e.g. updating video drivers; disable "spelling checking". The default language is English. I also followed a most recent post by MitchKrupp2 posted on 01-29-2021 to override high DPI scaling behavior: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-questions/problem-editing-annotation-attributes-pro-2-7/m-p.... Some people fount it worked, unfortunately not me.
Are there any new solutions that I can learn? Thanks in advance!
Anyone have any solution to this? My ArcGIS Pro 2.8.2 is current and I am experiencing "freezing" with basic editing tasks repeatedly.
What are the steps? Have you contacted Esri Technical Support yet?
Steps are simply drawing a new line/point/polygon, occurring intermittently it totally freezes, then in task manager I can see memory/processor fluctuating with Pro, but it never recovers. I then have to force quit from task manager and reopen my project.
Thanks @MichaelAugust. That is not something I've encountered or has been reported. If your system meets the system requirements and passes the test linked to on this page: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/get-started/arcgis-pro-system-requirements.htm ...
...the next step would be to reach out to Support: https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support
This blog also has lots of great tips for troubleshooting: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-documents/troubleshooting-performance-issues-in-arcgis-pro/...
Maybe it will be something as simple as clearing the cache (https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/layer-properties/how-caching-works.htm)
...if not, that's when Support can help.

Thanks Scott - turns out there was something going on with our network that was causing Pro to freeze every ten minutes, I finally noticed that pattern and contacted our IT department. Apparently bandwidth out of one of our offices had been maxed out for hours. Hopefully this info might help others in same situation. Thanks for getting back to me!
Oh wow, I'm glad you got it resolved! Thanks for closing the loop.
Were you editing a file gdb on a network drive? Just curious. In my experience, any latency over the network can really kill you with ArcGIS desktop app because a lot of small files are written and read during editing and processing. You can have great transfer rates but if there is a wait (even a short one) to read or write to a drive... things can go very bad.
Yes, we actually use a cloud solution called Panzura, there are hardware devices in each office connected to the cloud and it's supposed to be a seamless multi-office solution. We're familiar with the latency issues, used to be a lot worse a few years ago.
Although it sounds like the files maybe are local, your cloud synch latency may be causing issues. I was recommending OneDrive to my students using Pro until I saw this kb article and now we are only using OneDrive for backup, not interactive access with Pro.

Scott these are such great links I included them in a new document in the Desktop installation support space. Thanks for these, worth sharing!
