I know I had this issue last update and cannot remember how I got it to update.
I am getting a blank map with 0 buttons now.

I opened on another machine and its a different interface.

How can I get the Add-In to update?  Note this is a Managed Add-In and I cannot use the MS Store.

Thanks

No I just have the one.  I tried that a few times already.  Not going to worry about it since it is just this one machine.  My others are fine.

Also no luck getting the Spatial Aggregation by Polygon to work.  Just get the error not found in AGOL.  Tried having it make a layer and not.

Hi again,

I would need to understand your workflow more? Can you confirm your workflow by cross checking our online documentation, see Aggregate features.

When Polygon layer is specified for Summary area type, the Summary polygon layer drop-down menu appears. You can select the Boundary layer from this drop-down.

Keep me posted!

Tested again and it seems to be a size issue.  I did not see this popup before since there is a delay on it.

What is weird is I have Save to AGOL turned off but it still tries to make something?  Pretty much all of my use cases would be more than 10,000 records and most users do not have publisher rights so cannot create layers.  Creating a layer is required?

Next I reduced the size of the data in Excel but it immediately tried to sync the deletes which was scary actually (good thing my test set is read only - I think that would trip users up).  But then it ignores the new data.  So it seems to be doing the aggregation on the server side vs in Excel.  I guess that makes sense.

I also add an issue where it cannot add data past the feature service record limit.  We have to set ours low from IT so almost all our services are over the record limit.  Pro can grab in batches.  Is that something that may come later?

Overall pretty low record limits.

thanks

@douxdoux For this issue, I am taking this workflow back to my team. I dont mean to make extra work for you but can you confirm which browser, Win, Mac or DT?

And can you provide your steps, assuming:

1. Add Excel data or ArcGIS online data?

2. What is your setup for the sp. agg tool?

sp agg photo.pngWe will dicuss this topic further. Stay tuned....

@DougBrowning Hey there! The update happens upon opening ArcGIS for Excel. You can verify once you sign in > under Login > settings. You may need to clear your browser cache.

I think the issue is IT installed it manually.  Then later it was added as a managed Add-in.  But it seems its now stuck on the manual one.

Ok @DougBrowning maybe we can try to housekeep the behind the scene details. Now you don't want to delete anything, but you can see if there are duplicate add-ins appearing (meaning you will see ArcGIS for Excel in 2 locations, one from the manual deployment and one from the admin level).

Also, are you using the Desktop or the online version?

When I open, say for example, my web browser version, I can see the following:

Do you see ArcGIS for Excel under My Add-ins or under Admin managed? If you see it under both, you maybe able to hover over the 3 dots and select remove. This would remove the manual add-in, leaving the admin managed add-in availble. Therefore, we have 1 admin managed A4E available and updates will occure automatically.

Removing an add-in per Microsoft online resources, see link here

  • Go to File > Get Add-ins.
  • Select the "My Add-ins" tab.
  • Choose the add-in you want to remove.
  • Click the three dots menu and select "Remove".

Let's go from here and keep me posted. Now... 🤣 My disclaimer, I am not saying this will fix the problem nor do I recommend going against any company policies to delete anything. This is just an optional troubleshooting idea to try.

All the best,
