Hello, our group is trying to allow various users to update our dashboard maps using the ArcGIS for Excel add-on. So far the furthest we have been able to get is for the different users to load the maps into Excel, however the Share button under Layer Options returns an error stating "Unable to find shared information, a new layer is published upon sharing." On the online layer editing is enabled and is being share across the organization, with the users receiving the error are administrators on. Is there some setting we are missing to enable or something we are doing wrong? Thanks!
Hi, Are Dashboard maps are hosted on Arcgis.com, and your task to edit the dashboard map from ArcGIS.com in 'ArcGIS for Excel' (A4Excel), and then share the edited map/layer from A4Excel to ArcGIS.com?
Thanks.
Pretty much.
The layers for the map were created using A4Excel and then shared to ArcGIS.com were the maps were then created. The idea would be for other team members to be able to open the excel files with the layer information, update the values or information, and then use A4Excel to overwrite the layers in ArcGIS.com.
Hi all, I'm running into the same issue. Were you able to find a solution or a workaround?
I have this issue not only with different users across the organization, but even with the same user I used to publish the data and the map, I get the exact same message as you. It is very frustrating, any ideas?
I'm also running into this.
