Good afternoon.
We are in the process of moving our country wide ArcMap/ArcObjects based (10.6.1) application to ArcGIS Pro Add-in based application. We would like to use Portal to perform administrative tasks such user access based on their counties or state-level privileges, security, and other authentication procedures.
We have 2 main questions:
Q1. Can we create a group for each county in the US - 3000+ counties? Or Is there an upper limit for the number of groups in the Portal we can create?
We will be using the groups to perform the following tasks:
- to streamline access to layers,
- to provide ability to update features if needed, and
- to perform other administrative activities as needed.
Q2. If there is an upper limit on the number of groups that can be created, Does Portal allow groups to create under a group?
We can create groups under each state to perform administrative activities as needed.
