I am looking to install the New Map Viewer to our Portal 10.8.1 environment. I have found where and how to install Map Viewer Beta, but cannot find any mention of the non-beta version of the New Map Viewer. Is this available? Can the Map Viewer Beta just be upgraded once it is installed?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Back then it was called the Map Viewer Beta, and had to be installed separately.

Hi Thomas,
The new map viewer is included with 10.9.1+ so when you upgrade you uninstall the Map Viewer Beta first, upgrade, then you can set the map viewer a the default viewer in the portal settings. The beta version is the only one available for 10.8.1 - the released version is in 10.9.1+.
Cheers
Fraser
That's what I was worried would be the case. Was hoping documentation was maybe just out of date, but I guess not. Hoping to get my org upgraded to 10.9.1 in Q1 next year.
Hi,
For 10.8.1 your only option is to install the Map Viewer Beta as a separate install AFAIK. Just remember to remove it prior to your upgrade. I just went through the 10.8.1 -> 10.9.1 upgrade process.
Cheers
You shouldn't have to install it. Go to Organization>Settings>Map and Primary map viewer should be a choice for you.
That's not an option available to me. If @FraserHand is correct, then I cannot have access to the New Map Viewer without updating my entire Enterprise to 10.9.1.
