In the new StoryMaps Briefings: It would be good to have the ability to transition through the slides using the arrows keys on the keyboard (right = forwards and left=backwards) This might allow for remote control (slide clickers) integration to make slick presentations more achievable. Additionally adding a left mouse-click to advance would complement this added functionality. Thanks Melissa Brooks Tasman, NZ

Hi @KoryKramer Thanks for this, its good to know you can switch label classes on and off using the tab in the TOC. This helps to understand how the product is intended to be used. I think I can work with this. It does, however, still illustrate that there are differences between these two similarly logical SQL filtering methods at a UI level. By this logic there should also be a tab in the TOC for Definition Queries so we can easily turn Definition Queries on and off without having to go into the layer properties. I understand the label class is holding more than just the filter, it also holds the formula and style. Perhaps the question of why does a Definition query have the ability to mute an individual query when this same logic dictates you should create a second layer with a new definition query? I know I might be stuck on a relatively minor issue but when they are built to look so similar but are logically implemented differently it was not clear to me that label classes can only have one filter but a layer can have many. I appreciate the swift feedback, thanks for helping to get us back on the right track. Cheers Melissa

Hi @CraigWilliams Is this a new feature? I forgot to mention we are still on 2.6.1 but will soon have the update. To do what you suggest, we would need two separate layers, the post above illustrates that I was not able to do what you’re suggesting within a single layer. There is no ‘toggle’ option I could see. Are you able to elaborate? Or include screenshots with Pro version? thanks for getting back Melissa

Background I want to control label classes down to the SQL filter level. This is not the same as pausing all layers. This helps with: Map Authoring Product QA Exporting/sharing scenarios to outputs quickly (PDF as an example) Consistency in ArcGIS Pro UX Context The functionality I would like to see falls in the SQL filter in the Label itself Currently to see the label class without the filter I need to delete the query. Idea With both being logically similar, the Clear/Set Active filter functionality makes sense to be available in the Label SQL filter config also. This would help with consistency in UX when coming across this SQL interface. Reference The Definition Query Documentation explains the idea of being able to Clear/Set Active filters using the tick icon in the green circle. See "Set the active definition query" section for the Definition Query Documentation, also screenshot below. ----------- I'm more than happy to provide more information, Regards Melissa Brooks Three Waters Planner New Plymouth District Council

@BrandonPlewe1 thanks for noting down your work around. Can confirm this still works. We had a Pro Project that crashed, when loading via the backup prompt it also did not complete. after that also had to be stopped we were stuck with a project that was spinning on open. Luckily it wasnt an important project and our issue was somewhere in the "metadata" folder, we didn't need to dig down to the specific file, but we had recovered enough to find the layers and sources so we could rebuild a new project. Interesting to learn about the Zip file in disguise info Thanks again. Melissa

I was just looking for this tool, was surprised to find it wasn't there already. Was there any link/confirmation on the roadmap inclusion? Thanks @Anonymous User could you post a link to the enhancement ENH-000136480 .. I couldn't spot it on the Esri support site. Cheers Melissa

Hi @ThomasHervey1 I've penned an idea in the Enterprise Exchange section, I had a discussion with our NZ vendor, they thought Enterprise might be the best place to start with the idea log. I will post here if anything come of this idea, thanks for your help looking into this. Please feel free to add what you can in the idea below as a comment. Any help appreciated. Enterprise Idea - Disabled Service Directory : Special provision for Create Replica function to enable Hub/Open Data synchronisation Thanks Melissa

The Create Replica function facilitates synchronization. ArcGIS Hub uses the Create Replica function to update the cached version of the Open Data item sources, this enables up-to-date downloads on the Open Data site. Image 1ESRI documentation recommends the Service Directory is disabled. This blocks all html requests, because the Create Replica function is an html request Hub cannot synchronize, this then causes an error on the Open Data page when attempting to retrieve files using the download option (see image) An example on our own Open Data site is NPDC GeoHUB - Notable Trees This idea submission is for ArcGIS Server to provide a special provision or alternative solution where the service directory can remain disabled while the Create Replica request/function can be successfully completed. This would restore functionality to the Open Data product while still maintaining a disabled Service Directory without any need for a workaround or enabling the Service Directory unnecessarily.

I was just having this issue today The simple - unshare the AGOL item for a minute, then reshare again removed the ghost item from Hub (for us) We have an Open Data group, I did not need to remove the item from the group. I just brought sharing back to the individual level for a short time. Thanks

Hi All, Just bumping the note above. I just wanted to keep this moving as our organisation heads towards adding more layers to our Open Data catalog in the near future. Let me know if I need to raise a more official ticket, and if so where/how I can do that. Thanks again Melissa Brooks Senior GIS Analyst New Plymouth District Council (NZ) @ThomasHervey1 @JustinPrather

Hi @ThomasHervey1 Thanks for the reply. We implemented the restriction to the service directory as per Disable the Services Directory—ArcGIS Server | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise . This is something we've had on since we implemented Enterprise. Can you confirm this is the reason the create replica function would not be working and let us know of a scenario where we can both comply with ESRI best practice (re service dir) and have a fully functional Open Data (where create replica is allowed). is it that the create replica function has to to be an html request (which is blocked by the above service directory setting)? could it be a changed to a json request instead? Happy to talk more and hear your thoughts on this. I'm not able to lift the restriction to our service directory as our org is following the above guideline. Cheers Melissa

Introduction Downloading from https://geohub.npdc.govt.nz/ Open Data is failing, not obvious error codes in F12. Background After adding a new item to our Open Data attempted to download we encountered the attached error message. Newly Added: https://geohub.npdc.govt.nz/datasets/6914a84f71e64604bed7192e825a9bc0_10/ I then checked other Open Data items on our Hub and had a similar issue. They may have had a previously cached file to download but new/updated file requests were not working. Issue The downloads are not working and may have not been for a while now. I'm looking at the geodatabase downloads especially, but not exclusively. This also now leads me to a concern with understanding how and how often Hub/Open Data updates these precached download files. I remember some documentation, but is this how it works in practice, and further, is this working as intended in our case? Summary Can someone please help look into this. I'm happy to test, and also have our infrastructure team available if we've not set firewalls up correctly etc... but in the first instance it would be good to have the Hub/Open Data product looked at especially with the new updates recently. Thanks in advance Melissa Brooks Senior GIS Analyst New Plymouth District Council @ThomasHervey1 @JustinPrather
