The line ("def #...") is not valid Python syntax. For some reason, exporting to Python script has malfunctioned - it has lots of problems. If there's supposed to be a function there, you'll have to write it yourself. If not, delete that line and continue on. edit: I'm pretty sure you'll also have to edit the line "True_48, False_49 = #"

I am attempting to publish an image service from mosaic dataset but some rasters/overviews appear as checkerboard when published within a folder. Details: - server AMI: Esri ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8 on Ubuntu - image service is created from a mosaic dataset, which includes several individual mosaic datasets (created like in Multiple Mosaic Dataset Configuration here: Time in a mosaic dataset—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop ) - all rasters/overviews appear as normal when image service is in root server folder - all mosaic dataset overviews/rasters work as normal before publishing - image service only works partially when published within a nested folder. Some rasters/overviews appear as normal, others appear as checkerboard. When I zoom in to the raster resolution below, the raster appears.

I think there may be a certificate issue on the server. The resolution was to use http/port 6080 rather than https/port 6443.

Do I perhaps need to expose any outgoing ports to allow this sort of roundtrip connection? I'm using VS Code, but running in bash terminal.

Hi Calvin, I have copied a working .ags to my server machine, however when running CreateImageSDDraft—Help | ArcGIS Desktop I see, "Unable to connect to the provided target server: https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:6443/arcgis/admin/". I've tried with ags files referencing the actual server ip, as well as attempts at 127.0.0.1 and localhost. Any ideas?

I've been publishing services through arcpy and service definition files from a remote machine, but now want to publish services from a mosaic dataset actually stored on the ArcGIS Server machine. Is this possible? Is there a local script on the ArcGIS Server for publishing services? The first problem I've encountered with this plan is that arcpy installed on the server does not seem to include the mapping module, necessary for creating the connection file (which shouldn't be necessary, since I'm already on the machine): CreateGISServerConnectionFile—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop The rest of my workflow involves creating, staging, and uploading a service definition file.

Thanks, Calvin, you're exactly right. I followed along with this: Example: Publish an image service from a folder of images—ArcGIS Server | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise

I'm sure this is ArcGIS Server 101, but what is the programmatic equivalent of right-clicking a mosaic dataset and choosing "Share as Image Service..."? I'm trying to publish multiple image services from mosaic datasets. Should I be looking for a geoprocessing tool, Python API, somewhere else? Any help appreciated!

Just came across the same problem. Resolution as follows: 1.) Create an IAM role (trusted entity = EC2, policy = S3 full access [or locked down if you prefer]) 2.) To your data store bucket, add bucket policy allowing access from your role to S3 3.) Attach IAM role to EC2 instance This assumes your ArcGIS Server is running on EC2.

Ah, yes, perhaps try Extract by Mask instead. Or, convert your vectors to a binary raster (0,1) and use Con to extract the desired pixels.

Save yourself the heartache of dealing with dates semi-manually by relying on the datetime module, which will handle it in one line and deal with leap years: from datetime import datetime
year = 2020
month = 2
day = 29
day_of_year = datetime(year, month, day).timetuple().tm_yday
print(day_of_year)

It looks like, for some reason, the start point for the last line segment (line 57: 867 655 630 False False ...did not get identified as a START. You can set it individually by: df.at[867,'START'] = True ...or try to figure out why the last line segment didn't get identified as a START.
