Hi. I'm afraid Snapshots doesn't do exactly what you want, but it still might be useful. Snapshots creates copies of the configurations for maps and apps. What's actually costing you credits is Feature Service storage. We recently added Feature Service support, but due to concerns over becoming a data storage service along with privacy concerns, we opted to store Feature Service snapshots in your AGOL account. The one caveat here is that we store these feature service backups as geodatabase files, which is half the credit cost of storing feature layers. Understand credits—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation Perhaps that works for you.

Hi all. Snapshots now includes support for Feature Services. We've also added some tutorials. Hope this helps someone!

Hi all, just a quick update. Snapshots now has the ability to quickly restore an items like a web or story map from a backup. One more step towards a version control environment for ArcGIS Online. We are turning our sights on backing up and restoring hosted feature layers next.

Thanks! We will be rolling out more features in the coming weeks that should make the entire restoration workflow easier, among other things.

Hello all, After reading through the frustrations in this thread, our team of developers took a stab at addressing some of these problems. I'd like to introduce Snapshots. Snapshots is a utility to backup and restore AGOL web maps and applications (storymaps, etc.). With this, you can create multiple ‘snapshots’ of the same item over time to preserve past and present versions of your maps or apps. You can then restore a snapshot with ease to your AGOL content. Never lose a story map again! Test out new features without fear of corrupting your map! You can access Snapshots with your ArcGIS Online creds, similar to using AGO Assistant at this link https://snapshots.cartolab.com. Currently, Snapshots is in Beta testing and only backs up maps and apps. We are looking at additional features to add in the future. Snapshots is completely free to use, and we hope someone here will find it useful. We'd love to hear any feedback you may have! About Snapshots Create a snapshot: Snapshot details after creation:

I'd like to share how I solved this, because it was also frustrating me that the TextString field of a FeatureLinked Annotation was not updating when the related feature class attributes that the label expression was based on were changed. ESRI's documentation on this is very convoluted, but in the end I came up with a pretty easy fix. In the map Unlink the annotation from the labels it was originally based on Set the original feature class to display labels again Check to make sure that the content of the new labels matches your updated data (don't worry about label placement) Convert the new labels to a new feature-linked annotation layer (this layer will be temporary) Right click on the original annotation layer and add a join to the new annotation layer based on the FeatureID Start editing and set the TextString of the original annotation class to equal the TextString value to the new, temporary annotation class. Save the edits, remove the join and remove the temporary annotation class layer. Your annotations should be updated with all the placement still in place.

Seems that you're right. Thanks. I managed to get the other minor issues caused by the switch figured out, so it seems to be working.

I did notice that pointing the deployed app's API version to 3.27 instead of 3.26 (which is what WAB 2.10 points to) seems to fix the problem with Arcade expressions not appearing. However, doing that causes some compatibility issues with other widgets. I also can't find anything that indicates theres a problem with these Arcade expressions in 3.26, so I'd prefer to find a solution that uses that version.

I have a popup that includes Arcade Expressions, which appear just fine in the AGOL web map (The Arcade expressions populate the items under Owner Info: But when I add this web map to a WAB Dev Edition application (v2.10), the arcade expressions do not appear. See the Owner Info section in the popup in the image below. There is no console error when this occurs. However, when opening the Attribute Table widget, data does not render and the Javascript console does produce an error: js.arcgis.com/3.26/init.js:115 Error: Runtime Error: Function Not Found: FeatureSetByName This is an example of the arcade expression I'm using, which does call FeatureSetByName (mentioned in the console error) var ownerTable = FeatureSetByName($datastore,"owner_info");
var parcelId = $feature.parcel;
var sql = "parcel = '" + parcelId + "'";
var ownerRecord = Filter(ownerTable, sql);
for (var f in ownerRecord){
return f.owner1
}

When you download WAB Dev Edition apps for deployment (or for further development beyond the WAB interface), the entire folder size is pretty big for a web app. A lot of that size (~18mb) is due to the /jimu.js folder that contains all the dojo modules and dijits esri wrote specifically for WAB. Is there a way to reduce the size of that jimu.js folder?

I haven't implemented this in the context of WABD, but I'm actually looking into this right now as well. Dojo has a Menu Dijit that is specifically for right-click context menus, so it should be possible.

Did you ever get a resolution to this? I'm going through a similar issue where I had existing Developer account that somehow got converted to an org account, and now ESRI wants me to create a new account for the developer portion. I'm really confused why they think this makes sense.

+1 for this. There needs to be more flexibility overall for scenarios like working with external parties from an organization. As a consulting developer, I've run into similar issues trying to subcontract with other organizations.
