This seems like a related question, if not the same. Can I execute one notebook from another? My use case is this, I have a Standard notebook that runs and captures new features if they exist; if they do exist, I want to run analysis on them using an Advanced notebook. If not, I don't.

Were you able to set a definition query for a Feature Layer View with a dynamic date function in the expression? I tried it with the following to filter records only for the last 20 days: view_def = {'EndTime > CURRENT_TIMESTAMP - 20'} and it raised a TypeError: 'is not JSON serializable"

How are your log file parameters defined? Some configurations create tables in the Geodatabase itself (needing write access there), some write to tempdb<--this is the recommendation and the default for SQL Server. https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.4/manage-data/gdbs-in-sql-server/logfiles-sqlserver.htm

Gonzalo, I think you just need to specify your SDE Connection File rather than the .gdb path workspace = r"DatabaseConnections\Connection to dbInstance.sde" or some such. Debbie

The ability to rename a database is an essential Database Administration utility. Esri should support this functionality with Geodatabases, if not directly supporting the database rename via "ALTER DATABASE <current_name> Modify Name = <new_name>" then with via a tool and scripting/coding for the SDE internals updates. This is a painful shortfall for those of us who need to administer geodatabases.

What is the meaning of a License Manager Utility that doesn't provide functionality to manage licenses? We have a need to be able to revoke licenses from idle/hung or otherwise errant sessions. Our internal charge rates are calculated according to license usage statistics. If we can't control them and rely on them, is this doesn't seem like a legitimate charge back scheme for us, nor for Esri.

I'm trying to help my users migrate between servers. I would like to be able to determine which server and database a layer is pointing to for its data source. We have mxds and layer files numbering in the thousands. I tried this piece of code from the Help: if lyr.serviceProperties["ServiceType"] != "SDE": print "Service Type: " + servProp.get('ServiceType', 'N/A') print " URL: " + servProp.get('URL', 'N/A') print " Connection: " + servProp.get('Connection', 'N/A') print " Server: " + servProp.get('Server', 'N/A') print " Cache: " + str(servProp.get('Cache', 'N/A')) print " User Name: " + servProp.get('UserName', 'N/A') print " Password: " + servProp.get('Password', 'N/A') print "" else: print "Service Type: " + servProp.get('ServiceType', 'N/A') print " Database: " + servProp.get('Database', 'N/A') print " Server: " + servProp.get('Server', 'N/A') print " Service: " + servProp.get('Instance', 'N/A') print " Version: " + servProp.get('Version', 'N/A') print " User name: " + servProp.get('UserName', 'N/A') print " Authentication: " + servProp.get('AuthenticationMode', 'N/A') print "" Returns: Database: maint Server: KCGIS-AGS10 Service: N/A Version: sde.DEFAULT User name: BULLD Authentication: OSA For my ArcSDE sourced layers, it returns the name of the ArcMap host for the "Server" property, and "N/A" for the "Service" property even though the layer uses a direct connect sde:sqlserver:gisprod. The workspacePath property of the layer is not reliable because connection files can be named <ANYTHING>.sde and we have at least a dozen ArcSDE servers in the enterprise.
