I assumed you could use OBJECTID as the primary key as long as you don't split features (Relationship class properties—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation) ? I have a partner organization working on a database for my work group and they don't want the field crews to type in IDs for the features so we thought that if we used the OBJECTID as the primary key, it would auto-populate the foreign key field (which we set it up as a Long) of a related (1:M) inspector table so the numbers would be sequential and there wouldn't be an issue of two field workers accidentally trying to submit two records with the same IDs. Thoughts/insights/clarifications are welcome!

Yes, the Imagery Basemap from AGOL. I didn't realize that the service layers were optimized at 96 dpi. "Issues may arise when attempting to print or export maps with service layers, as the map printed is in low quality. Most cached web map services such as those available from ArcGIS Online are designed for viewing on the screen at this resolution and are expected to print at a lower quality because the services are not designed for printing at higher quality. The basemaps are provided as services, thus such behavior is expected." Thank you for answering my curiosity George Thompson!

After several attempts and a good night sleep, I had the idea to just lower the DPI to 300... and the imagery basemap showed up in the exported map! When I did it again at 600 dpi, no basemap. Just out of curiosity, why is that?

Drew Flater Thanks for the info - I learned a new a tool today. Just for clarification, I was not loading new records into an existing shapefile when I encountered the issue.

Mervyn Lotter Thanks! I had always assumed that you needed all those little files for a shapefile to properly work and today I learned something new about .sbx and .sbn being optional.

I'm curious if other people have experienced not seeing features past a certain zoom from a recently run, fresh out of the oven XY Table to Point output shapefile in Pro 2.5. I zoomed in closer to the map and did another XY TtP output shapefile and it didn't show at all until I zoomed out and it appeared at the same zoom as the original run. I then zoomed way out than the zoom I was at in the original run and it also disappears at the same zoom as the original run. I then opened the three zoomed-impaired shapefiles in ArcMap 10.6.1 and the issue still persists. I came across the discussion Features disappear on zoom? and someone posted that exporting the shapefile into a new shapefile fixes the problem so I tried it and it did solved the issue I also re-ran the XY Table to Point to have the output as a fgdb feature class output instead and there was no issues what-so-ever... Sooo, does anyone know what exactly causes the features from these shapefiles not be seen past a certain point in the first place? It's been 10 years since the posting of the original thread under drastically different environments. And yes... I checked that there was no visibility range, I cleared the display cache, and I restarted my laptop...

Kory Kramer Are you still looking for tables that make the XY Table to Point to fail? I'm running ArcGIS Pro 2.5 and currently running into the same error but different message and it deletes the table after the tool fails and replaces it with an xml file. I had the "Error: External component has thrown an exception" message and closing/opening Pro worked. I had never seen that message before.

I had to mask layers 60+ times (an overall masking, and masking for each of the five districts) and was starting to lose my sanity. I even rebooted thinking it would make it go away but it still kept doing that. Yayyyyy! My first bug! ;D Thanks Kory for looking into it!

Does anyone else experience the following?: 1) Bring in a dataset (tested on stand alone shapefile, map service from an ArcServer, and feature class from an SDE) 2) Masking (under the Appearance Tab) is greyed out so I click on the recently brought in feature layer in the TOC and it is still greyed out 3) Clicks on a different feature layer and Masking activates 4) Clicks back on the recently added feature class and Masking is activated I would prefer if it would just automatically have Layer Masking activated instead of me having to click a different feature layer every single time I want to mask something... Anyway, I was just curious if any one else has this happen to them... Thanks! Thomas Colson, Robert Pollock Have you guys have this happen to you by chance?
