For working with millions of polygons/points/polylines, I notice that ArcPro hardly cracks 20% utilization of my i7-7700 8-thread processor for the vast majority of tools used. I work with millions of spatial bins and millions of GPS points, and would like to set ArcPro to utilize the most out of my processor. Any suggestions?

I have a question regarding generating tessellated hexagon grids in ArcGIS Pro: How do I define the length of the side of the hexagon bins that are generated (e.g. 20m sides)? There doesn't seem to be a parameter for that in the tool setup. For reference, I am using this tool: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/generatetesellation.htm

As the title states, looking for a way to have the font size of labels for a polygon class to match to classes of color symbology. I.e. larger font size for higher symbol values, lower font size for lower. Like the below image (labels created via Photoshop):

Hello, I have two feature classes of hexagonal polygons, both derived from a universal coverage of hexagons, both containing values for the exact same attribute. What I'd like to do is create a new polygon feature class that contains the difference in absolute value for the attribute for each hexagon. E.g. a Manhattan polygon containing the 1990 population attribute (1,487,536) compared to a Manhattan polygon containing the 2010 population attribute (1,585,873) outputs to a third Manhattan polygon containing the difference in population (98,337). Looking for a tool or function that performs this kind of Feature math (akin to Raster Math).

Hello, In modelbuilder, I am trying to create a text field that will contain the first five characters of a feature class name. The model is as follows: The adding of the field runs okay for each feature class that needs it, but the calculate field fails to populate the field with the leftmost five characters - the field remains empty. Here is the Calculate Field parameters: Perhaps my VBscript code is off, yet no errors are thrown. I end up with empty SID fields for each feature class needing them populated with the leftmost 5 characters.

Hello, I am trying to add data to my ArcPro map that resides in a geodatabase. Thing is, I only want to bring in features whose names end in "...RS75m", but there are many other features that I do not want to bring in. The following snapshot highlights the particular features I want to add to the map (in red), while I do not want to add the other features. Is there an automated way to select based on a wildcard of a features name, or Python console option inside ArcMap?

Hello, I'm trying to discover how best to automate the selection and subsequent creation of new feature classes from two text fields. In my case, one of the fields is an ID field, and one is a day-of-the-week field. I would want to create individual feature classes per ID AND day-of-the-week. I initially figured to use ModelBuilder, add "Select Layer By Attribute", but don't know how to automatically change the selection, make a new class from it, and clear the selection for the next. I have a hunch about Iterators, but am unfamiliar.

Hello, I'm running some batch processes, such as Convert Time Field, and sometimes receive warnings on certain feature classes that the process was "unable to convert part of the values". This warning is fine, but the problem is that the batch processing doesn't continue automatically past this warning and onto other feature classes. I have to manually remove the batched tables already processed and click Run every time the warning appears. Any setting or method to have batch processing continue regardless of such warnings?

Hello, I'm trying to run Forest CART in ArcPro 2.4, with about 8 explanatory variables trying to predict the 9th variable. The setting up of the tool runs with only warnings, then proceeds to Create Trees. However, Create Trees is stuck at 0% - I left it for over 2 hours, and it remained stuck at 0%. See below tool parameters: Since there's no documentation on the processing limitations of the tool, I cannot determine if the problem is the amount of points I threw in (3+ million), the number of trees (50), the flag to Compensate for Sparse Categories, a combination of parameters, or something else entirely.

Thanks, Lance. That worked, providing decent output, though there are a lot of junk columns added. Any idea if there's a way to export the field schema as it appears in the Fields table within Pro?

Hello, Within ArcPro 2.4, I'm trying to calculate a new field from two existing fields. The first field is an ID field of type text, and the second is a full date and time field of type Date. I want to separate the two with an underscore. I use the following in the Field Calculator: Problem is, my results end up being <Null> for the new column AKEY. The new column AKEY is type text, with 8000 length.

Sorry guys, forgot to mention that I figured this out already. Used strftime() as Lance mentioned to extract time into a new variable, which got the time portion into a string with a 24 hour clock. With such a formatted string, I could easily do range evaluations.

Hello, I have a full datetime field of type Date, e.g. 2018-11-28 05:05:44, that I have to evaluate values of only the time portion. Preferably I'd use the field calculator to add a value to a new field based on whether the time portion in the same record is greater than 05:00:00. Looking for how to extract the time portion, then I can figure out the evaluation logic. The extraction part of getting the time out of datetime module is stymieing me.

Hello, Based on my dataset, I have to apply a flag into a text field. This flag is derived by first looking at an ID field called SID (text), and determining the first two characters of it. Based on those 2 characters, it then looks at a date field called FullDateTime, and assigns the flag value if the time in FullDateTime falls within a specific range. Problem is, my code is not accepted by the field calculator in ArcPro 2.4: AttendanceFlag = DetermineAttendance (!SchoolAttendance!) from datetime import datetime def DetermineAttendance(SchoolAttendance): SchoolID = SID[:2] # variable to examine leftmost 2 characters in the SID field If DayType == “Weekend”: SchoolAttendance = “Weekend” Else: If SchoolID == “RL”: If FullDateTime.time() > = 8:55 AM and FullDateTime.time() <= 3:30 PM: SchoolAttendance = “InSchool” Else: SchoolAttendance = “OutSchool” Else: If FullDateTime.time() > = 9:10 AM and FullDateTime.time() <= 3:45 PM: SchoolAttendance = “InSchool” Else: SchoolAttendance = “OutSchool” This is my fields setup (DaysSeconds has been changed to a text field called AttendanceFlag:
