Thanks for the clarification, Lance. I actually modified the else: statement to send pass instead of -99, seeing that I will need to pin the temperature data for a total of 12 data collection days.

The recent dataset I'm working with is a huge array of 12 million hexagonal polygons, essentially acting as variable bins for 70 variables of all sorts of types. I generally run processing with it on a Windows 10 i7-7700 machine, yet find even loading the attribute table to take several minutes. Even when I created a 250K slice of the hexes, it still takes a long slog to view the table. I do have a join, basically linking the hexagonal polygon feature class (has only 5 variables) with an aspatial .csv file containing the other 65 variables. I keep wondering if exporting into a new feature class - thus having a complete & unjoined polygon feature class - would see gains in browsing and processing efficiency. Thoughts?

Hello, I'm trying some field calculation Python code that would copy over a corresponding value from one float field to another float field, based on whether a Date field is a specific date. Essentially, I want temperature values (Jan26_temp) copied over to another field (Pin_temp) only if the FullDateTime field's date is January 26, 2019. Unfortunately, my code returns only Null values. Here is my code:

Thanks for the quick reply. I ran it with your changes, yet I get an error "TypeError: an integer is required (got type datetime.datetime)". Perhaps this is because the FullDateTime field is a Date field. Is there a way to evaluate a Date field to acquire the type of day?

Hello, I'm trying to fill a new string field with whether it is a "weekend" day or "weekday" day. I have an existing field that has full date-time values like this: I'm not sure of the Python code needed in Calculate Field. This is what I have so far, but ArcPro rejects it, saying FullDateTime is not defined:

Hello, I'm trying to process a Python If statement using Field Calculator. What I want is to calculate the value of a string field by evaluating the values recorded in a double field. Essentially, calculating travel mode based on speed ranges (0 = stationary, 1-6 = walk, 7-19 = cycling, 20+ = driving). However, my expression fails to process in ArcPro. Below is the expression in full, along with the output I received:

Hello, I'm working with a map layout which has a small insert, seen here: The insert frame is towards the bottom right. I want the insert to show only the basemap, not the district polygon elements. However, when I uncheck the district polygons in the Contents pane, unchecking it for just that frame, the districts disappear from both frames, seen here: Is there a way to have the data elements separate between map frames in a layout, or some way to sever the link?

That didn't work for me without adding a ton of extraneous XML schema columns. Nonetheless, I found out how to export to txt, which provides the result I need after Text-to-Columns

Hello, I'm used to exporting an attribute table in ArcMap (version 10.4 in particular) for further analysis in Excel. Normally, I open the attribute table in ArcMap, click on the top-left icon, choose Export, and send everything to a DBASE table: This produces a dbf file I can drag-and-drop right into Excel, and get a readymade table just as it was in ArcMap. Tried the same in ArcPro (version 2.1.3), and figured out how to export to a DBF. However, instead of the above simple table of 3 columns, I get a lot of extraneous columns related to XML. Is there any way to replicate the same method that was so simple from ArcMap in ArcPro?

Hello, I'm working with ArcGIS Pro 2.1.3. When trying to get labeling visible on my maps, it works only for the 2D conversion (attached image with labels on polygon districts), but not on the 3D, no matter if I choose Global or Local option. What is the trick to getting labels to appear on the 3D-projected map of my feature classes? Swiping is also an issue where it works on 2D layers, but not 3D Global or Local, but I'm guessing it is related to the above issue.

In my ArcGIS Pro 2.1.3 Advanced product, items I add to the quick access toolbar are not staying. I've had to manually add items to make it look like this: but sometimes, without consistency I'm aware of, the bar is dropped back to the original 5 items on the lefthand side. Is there a setting I'm missing, or is this a technical issue?

Hello, I'm trying to grasp what the "topological" left and right are on a map/cartesian plane. To give an example, I am trying to buffer a polyline - a SW-NE oriented street - on only its right side if one was traveling toward the southwest corner. The Side Type option is the option I am interested in understanding, and am looking for advice on how to interpret its directionality.

Hello, I'm running a Closest Facility function within Network Analyst. I'm looking for the shortest route from Incidents to Facilities. After loading the datasets and running it under mostly default options, a few of the output choices are obviously incorrect: see attached picture of one example where the closest chosen is incorrect. What could be causing such incorrect choices within the analysis?
