Hi Alex, Yes, at ArcGIS 10.1 for Server the URL of a mobile data service takes new format & requires port number after server name: http://<servername>:<port number>/arcgis/services/<foldername (if applicable)>/<servicename>/<servicetype> See Mobile data services Help topic for additional information http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/#/Mobile_data_services/015400000451000000/ Cheers, Denise

My apologies all, I didn't have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 installed on my ArcGIS 10.0 machine and that is why I was getting the Cannot Start Application error. Denise I did encounter this error once when doing some early testing and mistakenly installed Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS 10.1.1 on my Windows 7 OS machine w/ArcGIS Desktop 10.0 installed (meant to install on my ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 machine). I assumed error was because Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS 10.1.1 requires ArcGIS 10.1.1 services yet I haven't done further testing to confirm my initial thoughts.

Mick, I apologize for delay in the response, I've been out of the office on vacation over the holidays. After testing we have found you cannot connect to ArcGIS for Server 10.1 from ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 10.0 (OOTB or custom apps). It is recommended to migrate your custom ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 10.0 SDK projects to ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 3.1 SDK. Denise

Hi Kieren, Which Trimble GeoExplorer XH Series device are you currently using? Trimble GeoXH is available in these models: GeoXH 6000, GeXH 3000 (aka 2008), GeoXH 2005 and GeoXH 2003. Please review the Trimble Mapping & GIS Product Compatibility List Matrix document to identify compatible versions of software between your field device and GPS Controller software. Visit Trimble.com to confirm your device is running latest Windows Mobile OS upgrades & GPS Firmware updates for your GeoXH device. Cheers, Denise

Mick, Can you provide a copy of Belarc Advisor Report run on your computer that provides this error? Belarc Advisor is a free PC audit software download that will build a detailed profile of your installed software and hardware, etc in Web browser format. Run it and send either the log file located at C:/Program Files/Belarc/Advisor/System/tmp OR save to your PC using Web browser menu File > Save Page As and if comfortable, share here as attachment or if not, let me know and I will provide my email. Cheers, Denise

All, Yes, ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 10 Update 4 Build 2550 is compatible with ArcGIS for Desktop 10.1. However, you will not be able to take advantage of the new features and functionality available at ArcGIS for Desktop 10.1 or ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 3.1 if you remain at ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 10 Update 4. Yet I recommend you review the ArcGIS Resource Center links for What's New in the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Windows Mobile 3 and Migrating your Applications to ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Windows Mobile 3 for more information. Cheers, Denise

Tim, Happy to see you posting on the Forums and want you to know we are still missing you here in Support. Hoping you and the family have wonderful holiday season home in Chicago! All, a more updated bug reference for this ArcPad coded value domain issue is NIM086936. If you are being challenged by this particular issue, please contact Esri Support so that you can be added to NIM086936 so we can get a more accurate customer count and escalate the issue for future ArcPad update. Being added to any NIM also allows you to track the status of the NIM for resolution through Customer Care or My Support portals. Cheers, Denise

Hi Henrik, Yes, this appears to be a bug with Mobile Tools after installing ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 Background Geoprocessing 64-bit patch and enabling Background Processing. Possibly known limitation related to .NET Tools but hasn't been confirmed with any Esri Development Team but have logged Mobile Tools crash as NIM086796. In the meantime, the workaround is to disable Background Processing as you also discovered. Thank you for reporting this on the Forums, however I do encourage you to contact Esri Support or your Esri local International Distributor so you can be attached to NIM086796 in order to maintain an official count of all customers encountering this challenge. Cheers, Denise

Hi Henrik, Do the Mobile Tools produce an error when you attempt to run them or simply not run? Do they only not run in ArcMap or does same behavior occur when you attempt to run from ArcCatalog? Can you obtain the latest release of ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 3.1 release from Esri Customer Care Portal or your local Esri International Distributor? I run ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 3.1 and ArcGIS for Desktop 10.1 SP1 and am able to run Create Mobile Cache and Synchronize Mobile Cache tools from ArcMap and ArcCatalog successfully. If you are still experiencing problems, I recommend you submit a support interaction with Esri Support or your International Distributor so you can work to further troubleshoot this challenge. Cheers, Denise

Hi Garrett, What type of tablet PC are you using with ArcPad 10.0.4? Please contact Esri Support so we can see if you are encountering NIM077684, a known issue with some tablet PCs and ArcPad 10 release. We might be able to provide a test fix for you to test but this hasn't yet been tested with Windows 8 OS so no guarantees it will work or not. Have your Support analyst contact me regarding the ArcPad camera fix. Cheers, Denise
