Hi Robert- I just wrote a draft of a customer success story in which the municipality updated the utility's GIS directly via ArcGIS Online, then the utilty automated the process to update their GIS with layers from the muni. Couldn't the transmission companies do the same thing in concept using web services.  ... View more

Hi Robert - thanks for posting - you have been a very active participant in the Esri Community - we thank you. This group is dedicated solely to those involved in transmission and generation. I have been a moderator at the UC and IMGIS transmission SIGS for a number of years and have always wanted to have our own community group. NOW WE DO. One topic that always seems to come up is the ability of ArcGIS to produce really complete system diagrams. I know Great River has done this successfully. Hi Clayton, We have just set this community up. I will be getting the names of the folks who participated in the Transmission SIG. I will have invite them, since this is a closed group. So we don't have many members yet. I To your observation, you are correct, transmission companies have been slower to migrate to the UN, but I'm expecting an uptick this year and next. We are working on a new initiative to update our Business Value of the Utility Network technical paper with input from UN specialty partners - this should help.  ... View more
