Hi Carey, If the application will be accessed anonymously (Guest) or through a social media account, all maps, layers, and the app will need to be shared publicly. If you want to restrict access to the information collected through the app, I suggest taking a look at this help topic: Limit Access to Public ArcGIS Online Layers - Crowdsource Reporter | ArcGIS for Local Government If the application will be accessed only by members of your organization, this content doesn't need to be shared with everyone, but you will need to choose to sign in with ArcGIS, not Guest or social media. We are working on an update to the app that will include the ability to turn off the Guest button, hopefully making this configuration a bit more intuitive. -Allison

Hi Evan, Find, Edit, Filter reads the properties of the layers in your web map to determine which layers are editable. If the layers have editing enabled, they should appear in the editing widget. Hi Brian, Here is the like to the new Solutions Site section for the LGIM (This page will be kept up to date, while the old resource center pages are being retired): Local Government Information Model | ArcGIS for Local Government I wanted to point you to the root of the LGIM help because there are other resources here that you and others might find helpful. Hi Kathleen, The Local Government Information Model contains several references to streetlights; hopefully I can help clear up this confusion for you by explaining the differences: - Streetlight feature class: Found in the FacilitiesStreets feature dataset, this point feature class holds your streetlight features and their attributes - Streetlight_ATTACH table: This is the table of attachments of features in the Streetlight feature class. These attachments could be photos or other documents related to each streetlight feature - StreetlightOutage raster: This raster is a heatmap of outage reports for use as a summary of what's going on during an incident, or for presenting to an executive to give a status of whats going on. If you haven't already, I recommend taking a look at our Street Light Inventory solution that makes use of this streetlight feature class and attachment table. The heatmap is used in the Executive Dashboard application.

Hi Steve, It doesn't seem that I can attach toolboxes to GeoNet posts, but I've sent a beta copy of the tool mentioned by Scott to the support analyst working on your case. The tool takes mxds that are sourced to fgdbs and re-sources them to data in an enterprise gdb. As part of this, it will also update layer and label definitions. It does assume that: all of the layers, tables, etc in the mxd currently point to content in a single fgdb all layers, tables, etc are to be updated to point to feature classes, tables, etc in a single enterprise gdb the names of the underlying feature classes, tables, etc are the same in both the fgdb and egdb For any others who are reading this post and would also like a copy of this tool: We are anticipating releasing this tool in an a future version of the LocalGovernment.tbx. If you'd like to try out the beta, please send me a PM that includes your email address. -Allison

Hi Timothy, There is a new Maps and Apps Gallery application template for ArcGIS Online that will work with non-public content. If the group, or content in the group, is not shared with the public, the user will need to click/tap 'Sign In' to authenticate to AGOL to access the non-public content. The app available form the Early Adopters group: http://www.arcgis.com/home/group.html?owner=esri_en&title=Early%20Adopter%20Templates Blog: http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2014/09/23/a-new-gallery-app-for-arcgis-online/http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2014/09/23/a-new-gallery-app-for-arcgis-online/ Documentation: http://solutions.arcgis.com/local-government/help/maps-and-apps-gallery/ -Allison

Hi Samantha, I'm not sure why you're getting this message. Can you tell me a bit more about how you created this application so I can try to help you troubleshoot? For example: - Did you download the app code and set the app up on your web server? - Did you download the app to do some additional configuration and then re-host the configuration in AGOL? - Have you created and configured the application completely in AGOL (ie no downloading at all)? What was the owner name of the template you used? -Allison

Hi Lisa, What you are trying to do should work. It sounds like the app is not able to access those basemaps for some reason. Could you check the following things for me? 1. All the maps in your basemaps group are public 2) The basemaps group itself is public 3) In the configuration panel you have put the name of the basemaps group in the Alternate Basemap Group parameter 4) You have put the name of the user account that own the basemaps group in the Basemap Group Owner parameter If you still have issues, let me know and we'll continue troubleshooting. -Allison

This can be caused by any number of issues - often environmental and extremely difficult to troubleshoot over a public forum. I strongly recommend working with Esri Support Services or your local distributor to resolve these issues but here are several things to try/consider: 1) Can you reproduce this issue with multiple maps/apps? If the issue is specific to one map/app it's likely a data problem. 2) Are you using a custom basemap? Try with an Esri default basemap to eliminate the basemap as a potential source or the error. 3) Are you using service that are on several servers or behind a firewall? There may be proxy considerations. Try with AGOL hosted services to help identify if this is the issue. 4) Can you reproduce the error on multiple networks (eg both home and office)? If it's only reproducible on one network it's likely a proxy issue. If you continue to have issues, please call Esri Support Services. They will be able to help you troubleshoot these issues in much more detail. - Allison ArcGIS for Local Government

It sounds like you've re-sourced the document correctly. Does your data display in a blank map document? Did you zoom to the area covered by your data too? Try selecting one of the records in the attribute table and clicking the 'Zoom to selected' button at the top of the attribute table. -Allison

Hi Lee, Finder can't search against layers that are nested in the TOC of the web map. There's documentation on this here: Configure Finder app - Get Started | ArcGIS for Local Government Specifically, check out the info for step 2 under Find Settings. You can search against the Parcels layer if you add it individually to the web map (REST URL should end in a layer index number). -Allison ArcGIS for Local Government
