There isn't an easy out of the box solution for this. As a workaround you could add a graphic or picture on top of the legend in the layout. The added graphic or picture won't be dynamic, so if the legend changes or is moved the graphic won't update with it.

From past experience I know this sometimes just requires a reboot of the machine after the install. It has to do with the fonts used by the symbols, as Adrian pointed out. Rebooting often seems to make the machine "see" the fonts and connect to them. If that doesn't work make sure you have bunch of Esri fonts in your machine's font directory.

I'm not adept at python, but I think what you'd need to do is somehow cycle through each index feature in data view, zoom to the index feature, export the data view, then repeat with the next index feature, and so on.

You might have to create them yourself. There doesn't seem to be a lot of historical data out there. Several years ago I made some shapefiles of US states over the decades, based on digitized paper maps in various atlases. They are not especially accurate or authoritative, but good enough for the types of maps I was making. If anyone knows of good sources, though, I'd also be interested.

That option is not available in Pro. It isn't needed, because the legend should pick up the actual transparency of the color automatically (another advantage of true transparency rather than having to simulate it by making colors lighter). If you aren't seeing that there may be something else going on. Can you provide more details about how you set transparency in the features? What kind of data are you using? I tried a couple of different things, like setting the transparency on a layer (polygon features) and also going into the layer symbology and setting transparency on the color used by a single class. In both cases the legend updated correctly. Edited to add: I checked and it turns out this is a bug that is fixed in ArcGIS Pro 1.3, which is why it works for me. Look for the fix in 1.3 when that comes out - hopefully around the time of the UC or so.

In that scenario (using the Additional Properties button and setting it to use decimal degrees or degrees and decimal minutes) you will also need to set the number of decimals to be greater than zero. And even then it drops trailing zeros.

Thanks for the clarification! Those I am not familiar with. I don't know how you could create them either; maybe as features? Hopefully someone else knows better and will provide an answer!

I really wish I could say soon! Unfortunately it won't be in Pro 1.3, and I don't know when it will be there. It is definitely on our list to do at some point. One thing you guys can do is advocate for it. The more users who advocate for things the more leverage it gives us to get the resources to implement what you need. Just know that there are many things competing for resources.

The legend patch shape? That functionality is not available in Pro yet. The shape in the preview when you are editing symbols/symbology is only for that preview window in that pane and has not bearing on the legend.

Are you referring to hachures, typically used (in US maps, at least) to indicate depressions in terrain contours? Or are there other kinds of spikes or symbology (like you might see on maps showing fault zones and dips and strikes and such)? If they are simple line hachures or spikes than you could use a hashed line - look at a railroad line style in the Esri stylesets that has a straight "crossbar" for an example of how that is done. You'd just have to make sure the spike fell on the correct side of the line rather than across the line - tip: I think you'd use an offset on the hachure symbol to do that, and would probably need to make sure the direction of the line went the right way for each case. Another option might be to use a picture marker or character marker on a line in the case of "spikes" that aren't a simple short straight line. And a third option could be to use representations symbology, but that gets more complicated if you're not familiar with that functionality (lots of power and user options, but more complex, too).

Unfortunately each grid is independent so there is no conflict detection between them. I won't suggest converting the grid to graphics, which is one way to manipulate them, because you need it live for mapbooks. The only option that comes to mind is to adjust one or the other grid to offset the labels so they don't overlap the labels in the other grid. Maybe offset one set of labels by a negative value so they are inside the map frame.

Did you also look at the related topics shown in that topic? Are there specific steps you're having trouble with? Are you stuck on creating the custom overlay grid in the style manager, or in applying it to a data frame, or is something else causing you problems?

I don't know anything about using citrix. Do you not have anyplace you can write files to? If you look in the Style Manager do you see a personal style, and if so, is it shown with a yellow folder icon (indicating write access) or gray (indicating read only)? If you don't have a personal style or it's read only can you create a new style in a folder you do have write access to? If you don't have write access anywhere to create a style I'm not sure what you can do, unless someone else has write access to create a style and can give you a style file to use, if you can load a style file onto a location you can access. If you can't even load a style file from someone else then you might be out of luck.

Maybe a custom overlay grid, which is a type of grid/graticule in data frame properties. There aren't built-in styles for custom overlay grids as they are based on features, so you'd have to set it up yourself. I've used them for things like time zone maps where I wanted to label the time zones around the edge of the map. Here's a help topic about them: https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.3/map/page-layouts/creating-custom-overlay-grids.htm
