Maybe the legend one should've said "I am Legend"... (but there are probably copyright issues with that)

The printer paper settings are determined by the individual default printer on each computer. We have no control over that. Your options, if you want to leave that option checked on is to make sure you either use the same printer as the default printer on all computers or you make sure you all of the default printers on every computer have the same default page size set in the printer's properties.

In the Page Printer Setup do you have "Use Printer Paper Settings" checked on? Try unchecking it.

I don't know about ArcObjects, but the advanced settings utility sets a reg key that says don't rotate. Can you do something with ArcObjects to set that?

I think you can do it through the Import Map button on the Insert ribbon or by navigating to a package in the Project pane, right-clicking on a map package and selecting "Add and Open". Basically the same as importing an mxd into Pro. It worked for me with an mpk I tried.

There isn't a way to set the first number in the dynamic scale text. It's always 1. You can do as Jayanta suggests, or simply type in the scale as static text. Either way results in static text. You could submit your idea to change the first number to the ideas site.

If the text has spaces and you put it in a rectangle (or other shape) text graphic (see text tool palette in the Draw toolbar) the text will break at spaces when it exceeds the width of the rectangle/shape. For this to work well you would need to make sure the rectangle is wide enough to accommodate the longest piece of text without spaces. If there are parts of the string that are short enough to fit the width, even if there are spaces in between, it won't wrap those; just the lines that are too long to fit. If the text doesn't have spaces you'll need other solutions, such as one of the ones given above.

Seems like answers are getting lost when old posts are getting ported over. The answer can be found in the help. For example, in this topic: http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/map/page-layouts/using-dynamic-text-with-data-driven-pages.htm The brief answer is, when the string is empty, you can tell it to use any user-defined default text (or just make it blank; not sure if it would need a blank space as a sort of place holder or if it can be totally empty) by doing something like this (adjusted for your particular case, of course): <dyn type="page" property="PageName_NW" emptyStr=""/>

I don't think ArcScene has a layout view. Isn't it only a scene view (data view)? Or have you exported the scene to place it on a layout in ArcMap? Pro is the way to go if you want scenes and layouts in one application in one document and want to view both the scene and a layout containing the scene at the same time.

No worries. I almost mentioned you might have to expand the legend in the Contents pane. Glad you figured it out!

Yes, you can turn off the different legend labels. To do that you will need to select legend items in the Contents pane under the legend (don't get that confused with the layers in the map). Then open the properties pane and you will find checkboxes to turn off the headings, etc. Note: you can do this for multiple items at once by selecting multiple legend items in the Content pane, using the Shift key and/or Ctrl key to multi-select.

Jeff, In the Page Setup dialog for your map document/template do you have it set to use printer page size or not? There's a checkbox for that. If it's currently checked try changing to unchecked (or vice versa) and see if that helps.

It is certainly a different model from ArcMap, but we hope it's a much better one based on years of user input and lessons learned. Of course, there is still more functionality to come and each release should see more enhancement and further improvements without pulling the rugs out from under you too much. We are definitely mindful of where users are coming from as we move forward.

I'm not sure if it applies in this case, but the size of dialogs and how things fit are determined by the largest contents, as well as making sure there is room for other languages which often take up more space than English UI. Maybe there are renderers that use that white space? I see what you mean though. Maybe it could be improved, or maybe it would be too disruptive - I don't know as I'm not part of the teams responsible for that. Submitting an idea (or logging an issue with tech support) is probably your best course of action at this point. Of course, it's better in ArcGIS Pro.
