Thomas, this is a great idea and can be added. It might take a while though.

Hey everybody, Brandon Keinath asked if it would be possible to display the current scale of your map within the widget in this thread. I took the challenge and added it to the ESRI coordinate widget. Just in case anybody else finds this useful! Let me know if there is anything else that might make sense to add and I see what I can do. In the future I'll probably clean up the code a little bit. Tim

Brandon, Since more than you seem to be liking this, I will create a thread in the custom widget Place and I will probably make it look a little nicer Let me know if you have any questions! Tim

This one shows the scale from the start. My first code didn't show the scale because it only changed the innerhtml when the extend changed. Now it populates the innerhtml on startup.

Robert, thanks for the explanation now I know why in some of my functions this.map was undefined. I solved it by using var myMap = this.map in the function and referred to it in my inline function as myMap. But the way you explained it makes much more sense. Tim

Hey everybody, Looking at some of the widgets code I keep coming across lang.hitch. What does this exactly do? What is it used for? Any example that even I can understand? Thanks, Tim

Hey everybody, I am trying to get my feet wet with creating custom widgets for the WebApp builder, so please be kind A while back I had created a location widget for the Javascript API and figured it might be good to do a WebApp builder version. It is still in development, but I figured it might be a good idea to share it and see what you think. You can see a live version HERE. Version 1.3 (3-13-15): - This version should work with custom basemaps. - Added Zoom level in settings. Depending on your basemap you might need to change zoom level to 0.01. Read here for details. Version 1.2: -Changed the Layout to Tabs (Robert Scheitlin, GISP Thanks) -Added UTM function Tim

Brandon, Here is something I have prepared quickly (It is not the best looking). Just replace the coordinate folder in your widget folder with the attached file. You should see the scale below the map coordinates when you zoom/pan. Let me know if it works. Tim

Hey Kenric, To achieve what you need I think you were on the right track. Just create a folder every month as you described and just copy your geodatabase in this folder. This will get you a backup. All your data is saved in the geodatabase. You could even setup a windows task that will run a python script to copy your data every night. Hope this helps! Tim
