When you add the rasters to the raster catalog are you choosing to create a managed raster catalog or unmanaged. Unmanaged should continue to work, since you are not importing the rasters. If you are choosing managed, then perhaps you are exceeding the limit of the geodatabase if you are choosing a personal or the total file size for a file geodatabase. Bear in mind, if you are choosing to import .sids or other highly compressed files, then they will be uncompressed and create files that are much larger than the original based on the compression. Perhaps you are either running out of room on the disk or within the personal geodatabase. That is the most likely reason, otherwise, perhaps one of the rasters is not defined and the chosen projection will not accommodate all of the rasters.

When you say 'merge' did you use the Merge tool or how did you combine the two? Also I am not sure what you mean, 'partially interpolated' because you are using a resampling technique, not necessarily an interpolation. My recommendation would be to combine the two rasters with the CON statement and then choose the finer pixels over the resampled Aster values. This technique will avoid resampling and maintain the original values of the finer resolution data. You must be sure that your pixels line up with the Snap Raster environment setting. That way you can have the best of both rasters. Be advised if the values at the edge are way off, you will still see a 'stair step action' unless you choose to blend/merge. If you are getting artifacts, it may be due to the resampling/merging that is occurring when the pixels do not line up and the values are very different. That explains the issue then. The only supported .grd files at 10 are the .grd from Golden Software per the Supported Raster Formats document. Golden Software Grid (.grd) There are 3 types of Golden Software Grids that are supported: Golden Software ASCII GRID (GSAG), Golden Software Binary Grid (GSBG), and Golden Software Surfer 7 Binary Grid (GS7BG). Single file�??extension *.grd Read-only (Write�??developer only for GSAG and GSBG) If you are using 10.1, then MapInfo .grd files are now supported as well, but likely the GeoSoft .grds are being read incorrectly as they are not supported.

Ok then it is simple, choose the option in ArcScene to display this raster using the elevation levels provided by the TIN. Then you do not need to have the TIN in ArcScene altogether. You can path to it in the menu. This should create the look of the raster draped on top in 3d.

Chances are that you have an .ecw. If that is the case then this behavior has been captured in a NIM059863 and has been resolved in 10.1. If you have another type of data, then please create a Support Incident so that we can test and document this behavior.

Do the two rasters differ in the band combination? From your description, they both sound like 4 band rasters. I would recommend when you create the mosaic dataset to create it as 4 band, add the two rasters and then use the Extract Bands function to pull together the 3 that you want. Since it seems that you have a particular setting of 4 band in ArcMap. If one raster looks like you want with 4-2-1 and the other 4-3-1, then you may need to use the extract band function on the individual rasters rather than apply to the whole mosaic dataset. You can access the individual functions by opening the attribute table and then selecting the individual raster and then adjusting the function there.

When you say 'symbology' do you mean the min/max values of the raster? Or the color ramp? The color ramps should be available to be selected, but there is not an import process from TIN to raster. In the attached screenshot, I selected 'Elevation # 1' for each TIN and raster. [ATTACH=CONFIG]14597[/ATTACH] If the values do not match up then the symbology will never look the same. I chose a coarse cell size for a quick export, which has contributed to the generalized look of the raster. The TIN is more angular but the symbology is similar.

The tool that Eric is mentioning will use the Multipatch and then, 'burn' in or add to the DEM you have. The 'archive multipatches' you are referrring to are .dae? Or .skp? If so you should convert them back into Multipatches in a geodatabase, prior to burning into the .dem. You can still use the original DEM in your solar analysis, once the buildings have been added to it.

Try creating the cost distance with just one of the inputs and then when determining the Cost Path use the other ones. The reason you are getting the single cell paths is that you have the same inputs for each, so there is no 'path'. You asked the algorithm to find the quickest path from these locations to themselves. Try to create a cost path for one of the points and then try using the other points as the inputs in the Cost Path tool.

You will still have to export the multipatch into a .dae, which should be able to load directly. On Google Earth 6.1, I have that option to load it directly.

This might be do to the fact the TIN is not in a coordinate system. I would check to see if the TIN is projected or not. You do not even need the TIN in the scene in order to display it in 3d. You can just simply path to it. Try that and see if you are getting the desired results.

Depending on the amount of overlap that you have, you can create a mosaic dataset and then use the Build Footprints tool and then define a shrink distance enough to cover the fiducials that you want to remove. It may take a little of testing to determine the correct shrink distance, but since the Build Footprints tool offers the ability to reset the original footprints it should not be too bad.

bjhunter - When publishing to server you need to have the license for Server. You have to have the Spatial Extension for server to provide that capability. The desktop license only applies when working in Desktop. sanjeeva - For your publishing are you using a Windows Server? I see that the Schematic Extension will only work on a Windows server per the above chart. If that is the case,then I urge you to create a Support Incident to look into it further.

After your slope analysis is done, you can then use the Extract by Values to pull out just the values within your desired range. The new raster created could be analyzed to determine how many pixels are contained and therefore the area covered for each setting. Also you could use the reclassify tool to divide the ranges into certain values, so the 15 to 20 % in one class, 21 to 40% in another and so on. That raster would have the number of pixels in each range.
