Version 2.1 of the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex will still be available in both a compiled version, as well as a source code version for Flex developers. It is still free to download and it still has a license agreement. It is a supported product which means you can call Esri Support.

The tiles can be different image sizes, but the LOD (levels of details) need to match. In your two map services, they were cached for different sets of LODs: {"level" : 0, "resolution" : 4096, "scale" : 15480944.8660992},
{"level" : 1, "resolution" : 2048, "scale" : 7740472.4330496},
{"level" : 2, "resolution" : 1024, "scale" : 3870236.2165248},
{"level" : 3, "resolution" : 512, "scale" : 1935118.1082624},
etc {"level" : 0, "resolution" : 2560, "scale" : 9675590.541312},
{"level" : 1, "resolution" : 1280, "scale" : 4837795.270656},
{"level" : 2, "resolution" : 640, "scale" : 2418897.635328},
etc Tiled map services are only displayed at the scales they were created for. If you re-create one of them to the match the other, things should work fine.

Are you using the viewer or the API directly? What mode is your FeatureLayer in (snapshot or ondemand)? In the case of the Tiled plus FeatureLayer (that's not shown), what does the exact REST request for the FeatureLayer look like (if you check it with httpfox/firebug/fiddler/charles etc)? Does it contain the custom WKT that you would expect?

Are you asking how to set up the configuration files for something like the TimeSlider widget sample: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/live/index.html?config=../samples/config-timeslider.xml If so, here are the main config files for it: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/samples/config-timeslider.xml http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/live/widgets/Time/TimeWidget_QuakesSince1970.xml If not, what is it that you are trying to do in the code for the widget?

The next release of the ArcGIS Viewer will be 2.1 - this will be the first non-sample, non-beta version. We are not planning a "2.0 final" version. The 2.1 version of the Viewer will be based on the 2.1 version of the API. We plan to release both of them around the same time. With the caveat that plans can change (and often do) ... currently we are aiming for a 2.1 combo release at the end of September.

Olivier, the drawtool tips have already been localized into six languages. Out-of-the-box we support English (en-US), German (de_DE), Spanish (es_ES), French (fr_FR), Japanese (ja_JP) and Chinese (zh_CN). For other languages please contact your local Esri distributor. To use a specific language, simply compile with the appropriate locale. In Flash Builder, go to Project -> Properties -> Flex Compiler and under the "Additional compiler arguments" change "-locale en_US" to "-locale fr_FR".

If you're OK with setting it up in a configuration file, as well as waiting for the 2.1 release of the viewer... then you'll probably be able to specify something like: <field name="ParcelID" linkfield="theURLfield"/> Q1: What do you mean with image linking ability? Having it show an image that when clicked goes to a URL or having a link that when clicked shows an image (either right there or outside of the app)? Q2: Where would your image come from? A blob field in the data, or a field with a URL, or a field with a filename (where the rest of the URL would have to be added) or taking advantage of the attachment in 10?

The UniqueValueInfo class has been moved to the com.esri.ags.renderers.supportClasses package. http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/apiref/index.html?com/esri/ags/renderers/supportClasses/UniqueValueInfo.html&com/esri/ags/renderers/supportClasses/class-list.html This is currently missing from the migration steps, but we'll add it there.

The source code for the Flex Viewer 2.0 beta can be downloaded from http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/ - look for the link on the right side that says "Download source code for Viewer". Also note that when upgrading from the 1.x API to the 2.x API, we listed some migration steps in the "Migrating to 2.0" topic - http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/help/index.html#migrating.htm e.g. "The package "symbol" has been renamed to symbols to follow Flex 4 syntax."

As for Flex Viewer 2 documentation: The Flex Viewer now has an online presence at http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/ and so the documentation is no longer part of the download. For developers, the content is admittedly thin for the beta, but http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/help/index.html#developers/gettingstarted_dev.htm is still a good starting point for Flex developers using the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex 2.

Alison, you might want to work this through directly with Esri Support - http://support.esri.com/en/ All the responses from arcgisonline should come back as http/1.1. I would try to figure out why some are coming back (or seem to be coming back) as http/1.0. It doesn't sound like a browser cache issue (which is other times a usual culprit). The firewall could indeed be playing a role.

In general, the best place (if you're not a hard-code developer) is hopefully the documentation in the Flex Viewer resource center 🙂 "The list of layers that appear in the widget are the operational layers listed in the Viewer application's main configuration file. " [from http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/help/index.html#widgets/layerlist_widget.htm]

Aha, are you talking about the old Sample flex viewer 1.3? I've tested FV2 (ArcGIS Viewer for Flex 2 beta) and it worked just fine with 10,000 bookmarks (I didn't test more than that).
