Dear all, I´m going to teach a few sessions on webmapping as part of a postgraduate diploma and would like to use story maps as an example. However, I´m not sure how the organize the students´ AGOL accounts, ie.: whether it is better that everyone creates her personal account, or use an organizational account with different users within this account. Another issue is, where to host the maps, since I don´t just want to use the hosted templates. Dropbox seems to be an option, although it´s not realy recommended by ESRI!? Anyone has some experience with this situation? Are there some recommendations from the ESRI-guys? thank you & best regards, Flo

Hi Rocio, you can change the font-color in the carousel for each class in the maptour-min.css. For example to change the font color for class 1, add: #organizePopup .number-class1{background-color:#003d00;color:#YOURCOLORHERE} best regards, Flo

Hi Armanda: Probably Rupert is right - 11 colors is to much. However I was "obligated" by my boss to include 15 classes: http://speck.conabio.gob.mx/NALCMS/photos/en/index.html So if you want to augment the number of classes: 1) in the maptour-config.js: define a label, a path and a css-class for each class you want to add 2) in maptour-min.css define the color for the background of the numbers in the carousel. 3) design the icons you want to use based on the Photoshop file provided and upload them in >> resources >> markers 4) in the csv file you have to add the labels defined in the maptour-config.js for each position cheers, Flo

Hi Anthony, LIKE works fine - thank you very much! However, we would like, that the combobox shows the same behaviour, i.e. that it lists all counties that contain a name´s part - but I guess that´s a dojo/dijit issue, so we´ll close this thread with "answered".

Thank you very much for the hint and for clarifying the issue. Our programmer will give it a try, than we´ll update the thread ... cheers, Flo P.S.: It works here also in IE11 - you just have the wait until the map is loaded completely.

Mhhh ... well there is a ComboBox"Seleccione un municipio" (next to the zoom in/out) button, where you can select/search counties. The query is build like this; var query = new esri.tasks.Query(); query.where = "NOM_MUN = '"+ campo +"'"; NOM_MUN contains the county names. thank you, Flo

Dear all, We are working on a web-map with an integrated search function (built on the ArcGIS API for JavaScript), based on county names, which are requested from a feature service - here the map: Cruzada Nacional contra el Hambre en Oaxaca The function works fine, but just when you put the names exactly like they are written in the feature service. Is there a way to define a non-case sensitive search function? E.g. Case 1) Santa Ana Tavela > 1 result Case 2) St. Ana Tavela > 0 results Case 3) Sant Ana Tavela > 0 results Case 4) Ana Tavela > 0 results How can we define a more flexible search function that also responds to case 2-4? Thank you & best regards, Flo

Hi Gregory, Our idea was that the user may just want a quick overview (like it´s given with the first location, which could be interpreted as the "home" situation) and then turn back to a more detailed point of view. thank you anyway & best regards

Dear all: Preparing a storymap with the map-tour app I ´ve set the zoomLevel in the index.html to: zoomLevel: 8 This works fine when I open the application. However, when I reset the zoom with the home-button, the zoom level of 8 is no longer applied (e.g. when I switch to another position the map remains in the overview zoom-level entered with the home-button). Here´s the map: http://speck.conabio.gob.mx/NALCMS/photo/index.html Any hints? Thank you & best regards, Flo

Dear all, It seems that the Map-Tour app doesn´t use the default AGOL-popups, as the other Story Map apps do (I think about popups that appear when you click on a point symbol). Is there a way to activate them? thank you & best regards, Flo

Dear all, We have integrated a “search” function into the side-accordion app, requesting coordinates via “getExtent” from a feature service: Cruzada Nacional contra el Hambre en Oaxaca Since we´ve upgraded to the 3.10 version of the API, a $ is attached to names in the map (see below). We didn´t face this issues with version 3.7 (version 3.9 works fine as well). Any hints? Thank you & best regards, Flo
