I digitized the river (it's a very small scene) in CE via polygon shape creation. Since it wasn't a shapefile, how do I add an attribute to it? Would I add the water color code to an already existing rule file or do I make a new rule file that uses just that code?

Can you change the color of the water? I've been using the __watercalm to generate water in a rendering of redevelopment along a river, but the river is actually a blackwater river, so it would be an added bonus if I could change the color to a dark brown while still having it move with less amplified waves.

I have a DEM and ortho clipped to each other's extents, in the same projections and coordinates, however, when I click "finish" on import terrain, nothing happens. I've tried restarting CE and making a new project, but it just won't let me import a terrain. No matter how many times I click "finish" nothing happens. Any ideas as to what's going on?

I was once able to make water look realistic in the webviewer by typing in a certain field for the water shapefile name within CE. It was something like waterstormy__ or watercalm__, I can't quite remember it, or find it online. Anyone know how else to make your water look realistic in the web viewer?

Now that I think about it, the copy I had worked fine with CE2014, which was the version that was on the computers I was working on at the time. Now, I currently only have access to CE2012, however, it's possible to upgrade the computers to CE2014. Am I better off doing that and then downloading the latest version of the Redlands Example rule files?

Thank you! Would these rule files not be compatible with CE 2012? The computers I have access to currently only have 2012.

I have had a copy of the Redlands Example rule files saved on my flashdrive since about June. I tried using it a couple days ago, and whenever I try to apply one of the rule files, it says there is no start rule. I never manipulated the coding in the rule files, so is there a newer version of these rule files I should download? If so, where can I find them?

When I made it in ArcCatalogue, I know I used the same projections (NAD 1983 HARN (US FEET) State Plane (Florida West)) for the shapefile as I did for the ortho and DEM. I also double checked. And they are the same. I can't even "zoom to extent" (obviously since that does not exist in CE) to see just how far off they are, but my guess is they are very far apart.

I have just started a new project in CE. Prior to CE, I had made a shapefile of the river included in my terrain. I digitized it using an ortho of the area I'm trying to render in CE. I know for a fact the river shapefile, the DEM, and the orthos are all the same coordinate system and projections. However, after importing the terrain file into CE, when I tried to import the river shapefile, it appeared completely out of frame of the terrain. Anybody have any ideas as to what's going on?

I used the basic facade rule file and the roofs start rule that come with the Redlands Example to turn the tops of buildings from just shapes to roofs, then I applied textures (jpgs taken from orthos). The roofs display fine in CE, but in the web viewer, not only do they not display, but sometimes it makes the roofs disappear. I've attached two images, one from CE and the other from the web viewer to show what I'm talking about.

In the Philadelphia example on ESRI's site, it appears as if they use a base map (looks like an OSM basemap) rather than an ortho or satellite image for the terrain. Is it possible to use a basemap similar to the one used in that example, but without a heightmap file? The terrain for my scene distorts my buildings and roads even after aligning to terrain and the location of the scene has no major elevations anyway, so not having a DTM/DEM wouldn't be the end of the world.

I also just found on my system specifications that my computer is using a 32-bit LCD display rather than 64-bit as recommended by ESRI, so I'm guessing this is most likely the issue, but would appreciate a confirmation from someone else. Thank you.
