Robert, would you say tabulate intersection does this for me? It appears to have created the output I was looking for.

Dan, I have advanced. Split only works with string fields. Since population is numerical, how would split do what I want? I've tried tabulate intersection as an alternative.

Hi Micah, This is an interesting approach. I do have building footprints, address points, ROW polygons, and waterways. My concern about using addresses or footprints is that I would be putting residents in non-residential buildings. Land uses are mixed/integrated here, so I couldn't rely on assuming certain BGs would be 100% residential. To add, my Python skills are limited and I've never used model builder. Should I stay away from those processes then? I usually do more cartography than actual geography or heavy geoprocessing.

Thanks for the tip! If split doesn't work for me, I will try this.

Hi Dan, Thanks for the advice. Would I want to have use ratio policy enabled on the population field within the BG attribute table? What I had originally done was had that enabled before I intersected the two polygons, but the percentage of pop I got back didn't seem right to me knowing the city and parks.

I am trying to figure out what percentage of my City's population falls within a certain distance of their parks. I created a 10-min walkshed via network analyst, but my population data is limited. The best I have is Census Block Groups (2014-5 year estimates). Since I don't have points for population or even just household points with household sizes in the attribute table, I'm relying on the BG polygon. I know I can intersect the BG poly with the parks network analyst output poly, but how do I calculate the percentage of the population (a field within the BG attribute table) overlaps with the parks output? Is there a better way to do this? Any ideas, input, or advice is greatly appreciated. Also, I do not have BAO or BA Desktop, I know those tools can generate population numbers based on polygon inputs.

I have a presentation tomorrow that I've been making a story map for, and realized the place of the presentation doesn't have wifi. Is there a way to download my story map and show it offline?

Oh, I misunderstood, sorry about that. I just did a quick inspect element on those tabs you were talking about. It looks like you'll have to load your custom images into "resources/images/mapMarkers" or something similar to this folder, as I said before, I've never worked with this specific story map. Then double check the CSS script to make sure the existing markers are in there because you might need to change what they are called within that script. Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing:

Have you tried creating or searching for the desired icons and then uploading them within the icons/resources (whichever it is for this template) folder? That should work. Then make sure in your CSV or whatever you're using for your points, you point back to the new icons. If you look in the source code you should find where the icons are coming into play, and then just insert your custom icons into the folder specified. Try an inspect element on your current icons when viewing the site on your server if you're unsure of which code contains the icons element.

Finally got the other one to work, too. Thanks for helping me along the way. I guess the code had gotten corrupted somewhere and I didn't catch it.

I got the transportation story map to work just fine on the google drive hosting. So at least I've figured that one out. Now for the newer one, still trying to figure out what's wrong with it.

I'm not in the office today, so I'll have to take a look at those webfonts tomorrow, but the links to the google drive hosted story maps are: googledrive.com/host/0BxHsTyMIKu4XfjZpTmw3Rm9qSkwxX0hSM210MldmTF80YWpXcnN4RzZucGl0ZnRRSkhFTUk googledrive.com/host/0BxHsTyMIKu4XflB5VlFYOFBpQ2Njd011aWdHV3BEREFrTE5pLUo0ZzM3b1c2ZnkwV3ZweDg The second one works, but the custom header I made isn't displaying for me, and it was displaying just fine before. It's a white header that says DWNTWN Miami and had transportation icons on it.

I tried doing this with the first story map I made that was working fine on ipage, and it worked with the google drive hosting, but the story map that I was having issues with on ipage, that you said you were able to host just fine on dropbox, won't load on the google drive. I have no clue what the heck is going on, I've redone this story map several times now with new webmaps and fresh source codes, and I just can't get it to work anywhere.
