Have you restarted the server? I'm not certain that would help but that's where I'd start first. Did the feature class have any relationships? If so, the tables or other related features could be causing an issue.

You may be able to get it back by restoring your computer to the last known time the database was present on your computer. I've never tried this with a geodatabase, however, I have done it with other files and folders.

You could try this. It may not work with 9.3.1. In ArcCatalog, go to the access database, highlight all the features you want to edit and right click, select priveleges, and set the priveledges to the appropriate settings. I'd test this for you first but I don't have an mdb to work with right now.

A couple ideas. You may have tried them already, but you don't say what you've tried already. You may have to turn on an editor extension under Tools>Extensions. Is the feature to be edited a point or line? Do you have the editor tool turned on?

Thanks. I had to go in and set up the tool parameters in the properties of the script. That solved the problem.

Sorry, I don't have any other ideas without sitting in front of your computer. I hope someone else can think of something for you.

I have been running through some code samples to try to discover an issue I'm having and I am having the same issue with the samples. I have been looking at this for 2 days now so it is most likely something I am just not seeing.

It looks like you are trying to do the upgrade as a "user" and not the "owner" of the SDE. You can make changes to the user group in SQL so that you are the owner of the SDE.

You do not have to reconcile and post if you aremaking edits directly to the SDE. The reconcile and post procedure is only used for versions of the database that are being edited.

I just found a script that will work with arcgisscripting used in versions prior to ArcGIS10. I'm attaching it because it's pretty long. I hope one of these scripts will help you.

If you are working in ArcGIS10, the following can be pasted into a python window (be sure to edit the paths to your folders) and it works great. # Script Name: Clip Multiple Feature Classes # Description: Clips one or more shapefiles of features # from a folder or geodatabase and places the clipped # feature classes into a geodatabase. # Created By: DD # Date: 11/19/2010. # Import ArcPy site-package and os modules # import arcpy import os # Set the input workspace # arcpy.env.workspace = "Add the path to your geodatabase here" # Set the clip featureclass # clipFeatures = "Add the path to your clip file here" # Set the output workspace # outWorkspace = "Add the path to your output geodatabase here" # Set the XY tolerance # clusterTolerance = arcpy.GetParameterAsText() try: # Get a list of the featureclasses in the input folder # fcs = arcpy.ListFeatureClasses() for fc in fcs: # Validate the new feature class name for the output workspace. # featureClassName = arcpy.ValidateTableName(fc, outWorkspace) outFeatureClass = os.path.join(outWorkspace, featureClassName) # Clip each feature class in the list with the clip feature class. # Do not clip the clipFeatures, it may be in the same workspace. # if fc <> os.path.basename(clipFeatures): arcpy.Clip_analysis(fc, clipFeatures, outFeatureClass, "") except: arcpy.AddMessage(arcpy.GetMessages(2)) print arcpy.GetMessages(2)
