Where do you want them to go? If you want them in a spreadsheet, you can highlight the row, right click in any gray box on the left hand side of the attribute table, select copy, move to the spreadsheet, right-click in a cell, and select paste. If you want them in a shapefile, make sure you are editing, make sure the target layer is set to the layer you want to copy, make your selection, right-click, copy, right-click paste. You may be looking for something else because you asked about model builder. If I have misunderstood what you are looking for, could you be more clear about what, exactly, you'd like to accomplish?

'filling in' spaces between polygons[/URL], that post suggests using the Feature to Polygon tool with a defined cluster tolerance. Thank you. I looked at the post before I started this thread.

So pictures would help along with gap details and buffers used. I've attached a .docx with images. I've tried different buffers and I'm still not getting the option to keep the squared corners. Perhaps there is a setting I'm not aware of so I can reset the default (rounded edges) to squared. I'll look into this, but if anyone knows where this setting is and can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again for all your help.

Oh yes. And it worked Great! Except for the rounding of all the edges. Do you know how I can get the option to change the edges in the geoprocessing tool from rounded to flat/straight?

Thanks for all the responses. I've tried everything suggested except for the buffer that Dan suggested. This works well aside from the rounding of the edges. I'm working in ArcGIS 10 with an ArcInfo license. The option to make the corners flat/squared is grayed out so I'm not able to change it in the Buffer Geoprocessing pop up form. Any suggestions as to how I could get my straight edges back after the buffer is appreciated. And thank you again for everyone's help!

I have hundreds of polygons that I'd like to put together to create one polygon. In the past I would simply use the Dissove tool and this worked fine. The polygons I'm trying to put together now are parcels and they are separated wherever there is a road right-of-way. When I do the Dissolve, the polygon has "cracks" in it. I've gone through most of the tools I thought might get rid of the "cracks" (Eliminate, Integrate, Union) and can't seem to get a solid polygon feature. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I've just upgraded my OS to Windows 7. I had some ArcPad folders checked out for data collection prior to doing the upgrade (OS Windows XP, ArcPad 8, ArcMap 9.3.1). I'm trying to check them in and I'm not getting the option on the ArcPad manager toolbar. Is there another way to check the folders in without losing any of the data collected?

Thanks Kim. I'm familiar with GeoTools. The cost of a license is not something I, as a student, can afford. I was hoping for some open source coding or a free script to help me. It seems like the Bulk Snap tool would work perfectly if I could get the dll into my tools. I'm running ArcMap 9.3.1 on Windows XP.

I have thousands of line features that should have been snapped to the nearest point feature when they were created. Unfortunately, they weren't and so I'm looking for a script or tool to help me do this quickly. I found the "Bulk Snap" tool, however, I can't get the .dll loaded to my tools to see if that will work. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

When I run an arcpy script in ArcGIS10 to perform analysis on a shapefile, the shapefile is added to the map automatically. I can't find a way to make this happen in 9.3. I've looked for code corresponding to the "add data" button and can't seem to find anything. I've tried the addLayer but it doesn't seem to work right with a shapefile (although, I could be doing something wrong). # Import system modules import sys, string, os, arcgisscripting # Create the Geoprocessor object gp = arcgisscripting.create() # Load required toolboxes... gp.AddToolbox("C:/Program Files/ArcGIS/ArcToolbox/Toolboxes/Data Management Tools.tbx") gp.AddToolbox("C:/Program Files/ArcGIS/ArcToolbox/Toolboxes/Analysis Tools.tbx") # Local variables... shapefile_name = "shapefile_name" selected_shp = gp.GetParameterAsText(0) Output_Feature_Class = gp.GetParameterAsText(1) # Process: Select... gp.Select_analysis(shapefile_name, selected_shp, "") # Process: Dissolve... gp.Dissolve_management(selected_shp, Output_Feature_Class, "", "", "MULTI_PART", "DISSOLVE_LINES") # Process: Add the shapefile to the map gp.AddFeatureLayer(selected_shp,Output_Feature_Class) Thanks for any help!

I'm not absolutely certain of this but I think you may be experiencing an OWNER issue. When data is created in an SDE, the OWNER has permissions that are different from an EDITOR.
