Moving this question to Enterprise GIS I noticed that my hosted table shows as Feature Layer (hosted) in Portal whereas same hosted table shows as Table (hosted) in ArcGIS Online. Moreover, Export Data in ArcGIS Online works but not in Portal. I suspect my hosted table in Portal is corrupted as it does not list in the Content, it does not export and the item type is set to Feature Layer! How this can happen? And how to solve it?

Is your ArcGIS Pro session logged in to your ArcGIS Online as active portal? Just a guess...

Would your layers stored in a location (network?) currently not accessible by your project and/or machine? Here are some tips to help: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/data-management/data-management/arcgis-pro-tips-5-tips-for-fixing-broken-data-links/

As I mentionned at the beginning, same workflow with ArcGIS Online as active portal, it worked and the table is hosted. Active portal set to Portal, sharing looks ok, no error messages and I can even click to check the table online. But this table is nowhere in my Content! I can see the Service Definition file only...

Thanks for helping out. Correct, the table is there, on Portal and I can browse the records in the Data tab... There is even an item id in the URL. But it is nowhere in the Content! As soon as I leave this page, I cannot find it any more. I double-checked and the table is nowhere else (not owned by another user) and I looked in all folders (Home, All my Content, sub-folders...), nothing nothing!

Hi, I have a table stored in an Enterprise GDB. If I right-click the table, Sharing -> Share As Table, logged in my organization Portal, I can only share it as a hosted table (I cannot use 'reference registered data'). That's ok. Once shared, when I click the green message 'Manage the hosted table', it opens the actual table on the Portal site. That's fine so far. However, in the Content of the Portal, I can only see the .sd service definition file for this table! The actual table is nowhere. Why? For info, I did exactly the same with ArcGIS Online, the table shared much quicker and the table is correctly listed in my Content. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks all to your contributions. Vince's suggestion is also good but depending on the underlying DBMS, ST_Geometry can be limited. For lat/long, no problem with any DBMS. However, if trying to calculate geodesic length or area, ST_Geometry can be rubbish... at least with Oracle. Also, you need to create views. On the other hand, attribute rules can be more powerful but need the underlying ESRI geodatabase environment... As I already experienced ST_Geometry, I will investigate attribute rule and look how far I can go.

Hi Joe, Thanks, it is a good start and an interesting thread on Arcade... I need to dive into attribute rules for geodatabase as this is something I never done before. And I found the ESRI docs: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/geodatabases/overview/an-overview-of-attribute-rules.htm It should not be too difficult... Hopefully

Hi, In a geodatabase, stored in ArcGIS Enterprise, is it possible to create dynamic and/or calculated field? For a point feature, I'd like to create a LAT and LONG fields to store the decimal degrees of the location of the point, which will automatically (dynamically) update whenever the point geometry is changed/moved.. Somehow, it would be similar to certain fields maintained by the geodatase such as AREA and/or LEN. Is it possible? This would be great. Also, in practice, it would behave like a custom Arcade expression to display dynamic (calculated) fields in Pop-Ups, but actually stored in the geodatabase...

Hi, I am wondering if ArcGIS Online (and Portal to some extent) can open a WFS published in geographic datum ETRS 1989 (WKID 4258)? It is not projected. I am asking because I always get an error and I suspect ArcGIS Online being able to deal only with WGS84, preferably projected in WebMercator... Thanks

It looks like I need to investigate Task... In the Toolbox, I can only find Server Tools -> Publishing -> Replace Web Layer but it is not quite the same as Overwrite Web Layer and do not apply to feature layer apparently. Would Task run in a scheduler? Need to find a compromise in my workflow...

Thanks again. It is all really helpful and confirm what I thought... Registering data to portal layers creates locks which are not convenient whereas copy data to a hosted feature layer do not create locks but data are not in sync. If I was automating hosted layer refresh in ModelBuilder and/or Python, is there a geoprocessing tool to perform the right-click -> Sharing -> Overwrite Web Layer? I need a workflow to regularly refresh a hosted feature layer...

Thanks. It is a good start... If I right-click a layer, unfortunately, options to View User or Disconnect are greyed out. Once you know there are existing locks, if you suspect a Feature Service locking a layer after publishing, apart from an Administrator, as I layer owner, can I stop the service to remove temporarely the lock? Otherwise, publishing layers can cause problems for database administration... Another idea, is there a better workflow to refresh a layer on which a Feature Service is based? I mean replacing the data source by a brand new layer with same schema and name...

Hi, I have an Enterprise GDB on ArcGIS Server 10.6.1 containing feature classes I own which I published on Portal for ArcGIS. Because layers are published, a lock is on these layers, in ArcGIS Pro 2.6.1, I cannot edit anything, neither rename and/or delete. I suspect the lock is caused by the Feature Service on ArcGIS Server... I am not Admiistrator. I read some documentation about this issue: Disable schema locking on a map service—ArcGIS Server | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise Start and stop services—ArcGIS Server | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise And a similar problem: https://community.esri.com/thread/250719-sde-locks In ArcGIS Pro, how can I list the locks on my SDE layers? If the lock is due to ArcGIS Server, how can I stop the Feature Service in order to perform some edits in name and/or schema? In my workflow, I would like to simply replace a feature layer with a new version of that feature layer and hopefully the Feature Service will point to the new feature layer... Thanks

*** I reposted here, as a seperate question, the issue I am facing as I replied on a question marked as "Assumed Answered" and it is unlikely I will get any response Hi, I have the same workflow and similar issues as posted ArcGIS Portal Editable Feature Service access issue My point feature service is published (I am the owner) with 'Add, update and delete feature' in the configuration tab when publishing from ArcGIS Pro (2.6.1), the feature service is linked to an enterprise GDB which is registered to the data store and the Portal (10.7.1) is federated. I have a Publisher role and the table is registered in the Enterprise GDB. In a new WebMap on Portal for ArcGIS, once on the Edit tab, I only get 'Feature creation is disabled for all layers.' in the table of content. Although my layer should be editable. I can only Update attributes and Delete features. But I cannot Move or Create features... In addition, the Feature Service item details page do show: Capabilities: Query,Create,Update,Delete,Uploads,Editing Is there any setting/parameter missing? For info: in ArcGIS Pro, I can Add, Update and Delete feature from the same point layer stored in Enterprise GDB. And any changes appear in the WebMap.
