That was it -- we hadn't opened port 2443. Looks like it's running now. About how long should it spin for before it's complete?

Hi Jonathan, Thanks, that helped.First, I changed the URL to the redirected URL, then I got an error that said that 7443 was an invalid port. Then, I changed the logging level in logback.xml file, and the next error was that my SHARED_LOCATION was inaccessible. I fixed a typo in that, and now it can't access my Data Store URL. Past the initial roadblock thanks to your help. Jon.

Here's what I've done: Installed ArcGIS Pro. Cloned the default Python environment using conda. Updated ArcGIS to 1.5.0 using conda. Now, in my notebook, the map widget does not display the first time I run a cell. For example, when I run the following cell the first time: from arcgis.gis import GIS
my_gis = GIS()
my_gis.map() The map widget is not displayed. If I run the cell again, then the map widget is displayed.

I have a folder structure that contains a hierarchy of KML files. The top KML file, Main.kml. contains links to other KML files in the hierarchy, which in turn contain links to other KML files in the hierarchy, until, finally, you get to the leaf node that contains actual features. (Note: I didn't set this up, I'm just using it). I can add Main.kml to Google Earth and all of the links to the sub-layers and folders in the hierarchy show up, and I can turn them on and the data appears in Google Earth. When I add KML files from this hierarchy into a map in ArcGIS Pro, sometimes they work, but, more often than that, they don't. Often, only a couple levels of the hierarchy will be show in the map contents pane, and I can't drill down further. If I load one of the leaf KML nodes, then it seems to work fine. Anything else is hit-or-miss. Often ArcGIS Pro crashes when I try to drill down from a higher-level KML node. Does anyone have any insight?

Thanks, Lucas. That's what I ended up doing. Same for exporting an image from an image service --> use the REST endpoint.

In ArcGIS Runtime (specifically, for Qt, but this is applicable across all ArcGIS Runtime SDKs), how can one use the API to determine whether an image service is suitable for use as an elevation source? Esri's WorldElevation3D/Terrain3D service is an elevation data set. The service has a property named serviceDataType , which has a value of esriImageServiceDataTypeElevation . However, the corresponding ImageServiceRaster type in the Runtime API doesn't appear to have a corresponding property. Is there a way to determine, using the Runtime API, whether an image service is suitable for use as an elevation source?

Currently, there's not a convenient way to license Desktop or Engine with a single-use license in the cloud (e.g., Azure VMs, Amazon WorkSpaces). The user has to de-authorize before shutting down the cloud VM, otherwise, the single-use license enters an "untrusted" state (because the hardware IDs change when the machine is restarted). This is vitally important for small organizations who use cloud services as part of their DevOps. For example, in order for a third-party solution to support multiple releases of ArcGIS Desktop, the implementer will want to build and run unit tests against each release. The choices to do this are: a separate physical machine for each release; a separate VM for each release running on a local server; or a separate cloud VM for each release. The most cost-efficient option will usually be #3, and the automation tools available on cloud platforms can be used to automate build, test, and deploy. However, the lack of a single-use licensing solution for the cloud for developers essentially precludes #3 as an option.

Hi Jake, If you have a license manager on each instance, then I believe that you would encounter the license manager becoming "untrusted" were you running these on Azure instances (others please correct me if I'm wrong on this). So, I'm wondering if there are differences in the configurations of AWS and Azure instances that cause the problem to occur on Azure but not on AWS.

Hi Jake, How do you configure the instances that host ArcGIS Desktop to avoid the license becoming "untrusted"? Are you using concurrent licensing?
