Hey Steve, I haven't had the need to buy a product like this but I have worked with the guys at Anatum GeoMobile and they may be good people to contact about this: https://www.agsgis.com Since they deal with many different receivers and would likely know what would work best under canopy, etc. Also, there is GeoMobile Innovations (I think the two companies work together): http://www.geomobileinnovations.com

Shwu-jing Jeng, This is what my settings look like: And for viewer: What is different from your screenshot is how the survey is shared; mine has to be opened in the app. The browser does not work since the user cannot access the "Inbox" provided by the app. Is that the difference? I would share my survey here for testing (since it is obviously public), but it is only public because I am trying to deal with the lowest common denominator (meaning, the person who needs to use it needs as little steps as possible). I don't want anyone really messing with the data since it's all out there. I know that's a security breach and a risk I'm willing to take, but still... If you wanted to look at it maybe I could email you a link? Thanks for your suggestions.

Peter Sharkey, the process is exactly the same, just the clicks are different: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/layer-properties/unique-value.htm Either right click on the layer and go to Symbology or left click on the layer and open the Appearance ribbon at the top when it activates contextually, and mess with symbology from there.

Shwu-jing Jeng, I appreciate the response and advice. Unfortunately, we need to use the app since we are accessing the Inbox with this survey. From what I can tell, we cannot use the browser for this method. However, I have set everything I can set to "public" but still can't get the survey to open in the app without being prompted for a login.

Yeah, looks like standard behavior. CAD and GIS aren't the best of friends. One option that might solve many of your issues is to go to the Project ribbon (upper left), then Options, then CAD, and check on the box: For your annotation, right click on the layer, and turn on the labels. You may have to mess around with the labels some (in labelling properties) to get what you want.

Dumb question, I made a survey in Survey123 Connect from an existing feature class. I made it public, all feature classes are public, form is public, etc. When I go to share it with someone who is not logged in, it is asking for a login. This form has to be opened with the Survey123 App. Question: can a non-logged-in user use the Survey123 app for a public survey? Or do they have to have an organizational AGOL account? Thanks!

Daniel, I'm not sure what those last two objects are since they don't have file extensions. If it's ok, can you share the contents of your shapefile here? Questions, have you been able to open other shapefiles in CAD? Can you open this shapefile somewhere else to verify that it works and is valid?

Peter, there are many reasons why this could be happening. Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing? Also, sometimes it's there but just not labeled. I have found with certain dgn drawings, the text has to be exploded first in order for it to show up in GIS.

Peter Sharkey, yes, it's practically the same thing as ArcMap: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/conversion/cad-to-geodatabase.htm There is a tool, CAD to Geodatabase. There are many ways to do this; that is just one.

Peter, You cannot edit CAD data directly. You have to convert it to a feature class first (shapefile, file geodatabase, etc.). If you're using ArcMap and already have a feature class, you first need to start an Edit Session. From the Editor toolbar above (if it's not there, go to Customize --> Toolbars --> Editor), click on the drop down menu and select Start Editing.

So, I guess whenever I made changes, I thought that just publishing them would update my app. I guess I needed to download the survey again each time... Oops!

Daniel, I am not sure that the issue lies within AGOL. Are you able to import shapefiles normally into AutoCAD, regardless of AGOL? When you downloaded the shapefile from AGOL, do you have all related components in one folder together (meaning the .shp, .shx, .sbn, .prj, .dbf, etc.)? All of those components have to be together in the same folder in order for the shapefile to work. Do you have all the needed shapefile components (like listed above)?

Stefano Mauri, this looks great! I went in and put this line into my instance_name: concat ("Project: ", ${ProjName}, " - ", ${ClientName}) When I looked at my inbox in Suvey123 app, I didn't see this change. So, in the Inbox settings, I put that same string in (which is likely the wrong approach), but I did not see any change. Any ideas on how to make my instance name stick? Am I missing a step?
